Quite heavy spools on these new Daiwas. Will be interesting to hear about performance with light weight baits.

Re: Alphas sv tw with some line capacity
The spool is narrow on these spools. IDK directly compared to the CT, as I sold my Steez. These spools are more narrow than the SS AIR, SV Light 32mm spools...by quite a bit. You can see half of the inductor in the spool opening in the frame when you put the Alphas SV TW spool in the SS AIR.Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 8:09 pmNot quite as much. These spools are 32mm. The CT reels have 28mm spools.

So does anyone know the weight of the new Alphas SV TW? I don't remember the weight of my old SV105 spool either...

Nice, we need a locked thread for all Daiwa/Shimano spools weights, any other brand is welcome too, just seems that is what we hunt for the most...MountainMan 83 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 6:48 amI've got the SV105 spool at 13.4 grams with bearing.

Re: Alphas sv tw with some line capacity
Are these new alphas the same size frame as the older ones? A buddy of mine that has the new zillion and the alpha says they feel similar in size however somebody else said they are smaller more closer to an aldebaran frame. Can you confirm? Also, is the alphas ct sv a smaller frame than new alpha sv tw?
Re: Alphas sv tw with some line capacity
New alphas sv tw is narrower and sits lower on the rod vs alphas ct, where alphas ct is little shorter than new alphas.
Re: Alphas sv tw with some line capacity
Spool weight is not everything, but I suppose we can agree that it is has an impact on spool performance especially when throwing light weight lures. I have not had the time to dissect all the info released by Daiwa on SV Boost spools, but I seem to remember that commercials say the spools are great for light weight lures. Personally, I have been a little surprised with how heavy the spools are if meant for light weight baits.DirtyD64 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 9:51 amNice, we need a locked thread for all Daiwa/Shimano spools weights, any other brand is welcome too, just seems that is what we hunt for the most...MountainMan 83 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 6:48 amI've got the SV105 spool at 13.4 grams with bearing.
While you may joke about it (?), I would appreciate a locked thread or better yet a continuously updated table with info on spools including weight, diameter, brake/inductor type etc
