That's great news for the guys who are wavering because of the aluminum gears. Unfortunately, the USDM version will cost a good bit more.jwfflipper14 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 6:09 pmMy local rep.hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 6:16 pmCare to elaborate, as in disclosing your source?jwfflipper14 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 5:21 pmTrueLowRange wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 3:11 pmBig if trueCJankowski wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 11:18 amI am being told the Zillion will be in a JDM & USDM version. Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
What size spool does this reel have? if it is 34mm has anyone tried swapping the spool into other platforms to verify how fitment is? I know not all 34mm spool and reels that accept said spool sizes swap nicely. For example swapping TDZ or OG Steez spools into a T3 was never a perfect fit.
Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
Just learned that both side plates are aluminium and weights only 6.3oz. That's pretty darn good. I can tell this reel was created to compete with 2020Met and Bantam, since these two are crushing it.

Dealer says 18th before they can officially announce and USDM will be $50 ish less than JDM version.
Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
no, i didn't swap them. just compared. They're the same gearing material and cut so you aren't going to notice a difference. very smooth reel. The main gear I believe is identical and the only difference in the pinion is it's a touch longer. The total weight of my reel was as advertised, 175g on the nuts...or 6.1oz. Very impressed /w this reel.

Brass gears and $50 less? Something seems a miss with that to me. Still made in Japan?CJankowski wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 1:37 pmDealer says 18th before they can officially announce and USDM will be $50 ish less than JDM version.
Maybe a $350 price point to go directly against the bantam?

Your dealer is a prime example of why manufactures try to keep things under wraps as long as possible. We'll all know the details soon and out of respect for the manufacturer, and my own business, I'll remain silent. I will share the anticipation of new product details coming though! Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
Usdm model made in Thailand with Brass Gears is what I was being told.
Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
I remember a local ATV dealer advertised Yamaha Raptors would go 100mph. Local dealers aren't always the best sources, in your case I hope so, brass gears and $50 off would be nice, would be a very odd business model though. I assume it will be $399 and the same thing, or at best $349.
Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
6.1oz is impressive indeed. Is the palming side plate made out of aluminum?iabass8 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 2:06 pmno, i didn't swap them. just compared. If i had the choice between a JDM model with aluminum gears, Made in Japan and $50 more expensive (in reality, you will be able to find it for much cheaper in used like-new condition) or a USDM version with brass gears and made in Thailand, i wouldn't even consider the USDM one. Have seen enough Thailand Tatulas and most everything else from Daiwa for the last few years.
