JDMtackleheaven shows it is in stock  . I have everything in my cart but what I am seeing is no insurance is offered. All the way from Japan and no insurance on a rod is risky.

They usually ship through fedex and in pvc pipe very well secured. I’ve never had an issue through them. Usually get it in 3 days from shipping from Japan to California. They don’t do insurance, but they do declared value for customs and I’m pretty sure if the package is lost or damaged they will be able to claim that amount. I’m not positive if that’s how it works, but I’ve never thought twice about ordering anything from them. I have received over a dozen rods from them.

Is paying duties a crap shoot? Or since they declare value and the size of the package up the odds of it happening?

It’s hard to say. They have only got me twice on duty charges. I’ve had 40+ rods Imported. They might be more inclined due to covid, but you never know.

X2 on Dom’s experience with JDM TH. Always shipped fast and secure in heavy duty grey PVC and expertly packaged on the inside. Also, the frequency of being slapped with duty fees is similar for me. I thought it was a myth for a while, but I finally got my turn on one after about 20-25 rods sailed through under radar.
