Introduction: Shimano Japan has been busy this season updating their Calcutta Conquest platforms on both ends of the spectrum. Only negative about it is the line capacity if your using flouro, imo it would be better with a similar capacity at the Millionaire CT SV.

For most finesse FC fishing, this line capacity should be good. I have been using 7lb FC on similar capacity reels and have been fine casting ned rigs and light shakeyheads. Anything that I could cast beyond that, gets thrown on a different reel.

If I get one, I will be using 7lb FC. Might even step down to 6lb or 5lb. I am just hoping the aluminum gears hold up well. Time will tell if the 2021 teir 1 micro brass gears will fit in the BFS model, or if it is even necessary.

I've been using the 8.9 ratio aldebaran pretty regularly since they came out (right hand) and the gears have stayed out of the box butter smooth so far. I would only imagine putting them in a conquest frame and having absolutely no flex would only enhance longevity.

My Aldebaran BFS XG had been smooth all year. I won't mind the Conquest BFS sharing gears
