Hello experts looking for feedback on a rod to throw small paddle tails. 2.8-3.5 open hook on up to 3/8 oz heads.
Mostly open water applications, sometimes sparse cover.
I’m looking for something in the 76 range with a softer action.
I’ll be honest I don’t have much experience with this technique, but slow rolling a 3in swim bait in 20+ ft of water and it getting hammered is addictive!
Currently using a 72 eternity blank I built and it’s just a little fast.
Several rods have caught my eye
Expride 76 ml/m
Tatula 76
Muse black 76ml or m
Tw had the old elite feider rod on sale
Okuma series x 76m also looks really nice
Would like to keep it around 300 if possible.

I'm assuming those are spinning rods? If so that's a pretty strong list.
If you want a softer action and if you'll be using braid + leader, I would say the Fitzgerald All Purpose 7'6" medium should be on your radar as well.
The ALX McSmalls is also one I have considered for these same techs

If you can find them in stock, I have researched the hell out of these two rods for lots of ML+/7'6" spinning rod techs...the specs are exceptional for the blank, components, and also the overall weight.

Pretty kool concept for BC option for paddletails.
If I use a BC for 1/8-3/8 jigheads and 2.8-3.8 paddletails, I'm going to use my custom Vinnie Lamiglas Infinity 873, it's 7'3", with a fast/flexible 1/4 tip and shuts down into a very stout MH+ backbone. Additionally, it is very light, has a Matagi rear balancing kit, and is cleanly and brilliantly built. I have it paired with my Gekkabijin LH with Rays BFS deep SV spool and YGK X8 Upgrade 40lb + 10-12 leader.

The Expride is a good choice but if your budget is a bit more limited you could go with a 7 foot 6 L rod from the newest Curado series from Shimano. I have one and it's one of those '' The ONE rod''.

How I’d the action of this rod? Could it handle 3/8 plus a roughly 3in plastic?
Occasionally fish 30-50ft

That's probably a badass blank, although it might be a bit more powerful than the 873 Lamiglas Infinity? This 873 is truly a ML fast tip that loads easily and then locks into a MH+ backbone..the tip on this blank will handle 1/8 no problem and then toss 3/4 oz lipless or toss 1/4 poppers. The good news is there happens to be quite a few available options at $300 or less, so you can stay within your budget...granted da Guhv-mint charges taxes on everything sold retail online now.

The Tatula Elite AGS 76MLM (Seth Feider model, not the Johnston model) is what you're looking for. It reminds me of the old blue Steez AGS 76MLM - softer through the tip and mid than the current Compile X Steez but plenty of backbone and very light/well balanced. It's a smallmouth moving bait rod in my hands - spybait and 3/16 - 3/8oz ballhead + 3" shad body rod.
You'll probably be happy with the Expride too, but it seems a bit heavy for what it is...over 4oz.
And no offense intended but when I hear "Fitzgerald" and "13 Fishing" etc on TT I'm like

Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.
