Cal,
I read your WTF review of the Steez Megatop casting rod, and I'd like to suggest you try another casting rod in your WTF reviews.
Years ago I bought a Loomis GL3 7' casting rod that was rated 00 in power, and listed as a popper rod.
Since I have a bad disk in my neck, I stay away from spinning rods as much as I can, and use baitcasters 99% of the time.
I have thrown dropshot with this rod for years, 1/8 oz and up, using a Shimano MG50 and 6-8lb fluoro.
They no longer make this rod.
But, since I love throwing Orbit 80 jerkbaits, I found another baitcaster that handles really light stuff well, and is less than half the price of the Diawa rod.
It is the Falcon Shoal Cranker.
Here's the listing from their website:
CCB-3-17 Shoal Cranker
It handles the small 1/4 oz Yozuri jerbaits, and doubles for both drop shot and split shot in a pinch.
I am not sponsored by them, or any other rod maker but I love this rod.
