If I were a poor teenager again I would be pretty excited about these. I'm glad they keep improving their blanks. I was interested in the GX2 series, but the 7' casting rod had an extra chunky grip and big foregrip, plus the blank the fatter and whippier than I expected. I was hoping for an improved Ugly Stik Lite (which a nice blank for the money), but I'm not sure it was faster than the OG Uglies. Not sure why they didn't use the reel seat from the GX2 on the Elite Casting model instead of the basic ones they did. Oh well.
