Stradic ci4+ reeling noise
When I spin the reel handle, the reel makes a slight knocking noise. I recently cleaned the reel. The reel functions just fine. Have any of you had this problem? How can I get rid of the noise? Thanks

Did you check spool tension? If you had it completely apart it could be the star hitting the cap or the spool walking from side to side if it is too loose??

No offense, but it sounds like u talking about a casting reel. This is a spinning reel. But if not, what do u mean by spool tension (drag?) and what do u mean by star??
Re: Stradic ci4+ reeling noise
Is that noise occurring once per rotation at the same place?trevorvandam wrote:When I spin the reel handle, the reel makes a slight knocking noise. I recently cleaned the reel. The reel functions just fine. Have any of you had this problem? How can I get rid of the noise? Thanks

Yes, but I don't know exactly where the noise is coming from

Sorry I thought you were talking abouth the chronarch ci4+
Can you isolate ithe noise to the rotor or the body?
Does it feel rough when it makes the sound?

Also
Is it when the spool tops or bottoms out in its stroke that you hear it?

Re: Stradic ci4+ reeling noise
It's pretty hard to tell, maybe the body (below the rotor). One thing I know for sure is that is not coming from the spool. It still does it with the spool off. The reel is still very smooth. Imma fish with it this weekend. It might straighten itself when I fish with it. Some times when I clean my reels they make a little noise. And sometimes all it takes to get rid of it, is casing it. But we will see... Btw, I've had the reel for a little over a year now If that helps.

also, it isn't a huge concern for me as of right now. Its just a little knocking noise. but we'll see what happens down the road...
Re: Stradic ci4+ reeling noise
If this is an oscillation problem it will click at the top or bottom of the spool stroke. A slight tick is not concerning to me, but the description you have given leads me to believe there is an issue. Normally it can be corrected with shims. Worst case the worm shaft and pawl will need to be replaced.

It's hard to tell when the tick occurs. I think it's doing it when the spool is going down and going up
Re: Stradic ci4+ reeling noise
You can send the reel in for repair.

Re: Stradic ci4+ reeling noise
I will try and keep this post updated of the problem gets worse. I don't want to send it in right now
Re: Stradic ci4+ reeling noise
How about you just send it in if you feel it gets worse?
