Re: Cranking power on low profile BC
Something I have been meaning to try is putting the 4.7:1 gears from the BPS PQ into the Winch just to see if it adds anymore power. Not that the winch really needs any more. When I say deep diver I mean deep diver. I have thrown DD22, DT 20 metal, and the Manns Depth Plus which dives to 30+ feet. T...

Re: Cranking power on low profile BC
The 3 that I own are the Abu Winch, Shimano Chronarch and the Daiwa Zillion. All 3 handle big baits and deep divers fine. But the least amount of strain on me is the winch with the low gear(low IPT) and long opower handle. I also own a BPS PQ with 4.7:1 gears and it also does fine with medium baits....

That's what I was looking for! Thanks for the details.muskyhunter wrote:The knobs are premiers with 4 bearings. The stock handle has zero.
Use the BPS replacement handles work fine with Shimano reels.
You then just replace the stock knobs and bushings with your own knobs with bearings!

Re: Supertuning a old Chronarch 101A.
I recognize the knobs(revo premier), But I have never seen an extended handle for a Shimano. Handle looks like a Abu winch, But I tried mine and it is too sloppy on the Chronarch.
I PM'd nitroman77 for info.

Re: handle upgrade for Chronarch
Well i put a large aluminium handle on the Shumano Chronarch 101A and added 4 bearings to some spare eva knobs. It's crazy how smooth this reel is after supertuning. It now has 10+1 bearings and casts lures above 1/4oz like no other reel. Tested it out and it casts even better than my supertuned T3...

Re: Repair a kick lever?
Silver solder might stand up, Just get it hot enough to melt the solder. I would say brazing might also work.
Or get friendly with a machinist.

Supertuning questions/parts Citica g/Ardent Edge
I have got the basics in general. Just wondering if you fellas will share some tips, tricks or idea's. I got a couple that are heading to the bench this fall after the season is over. But I want to gather parts/tools now to get ready. These are personal reels not for resale! First is a Citca g. Then...

Re: Gen 2 Revo premier
Fished mine all season, Only issue was some screeching during the cast. Had to put a tin film of grease on the cup the centrifugals drag on. And some lube to the spool bearings of coarse. Happy so far.

Re: Daiwa Lexa vs. Daiwa Advantage TDA
I'm looking forward to the Lexa 100. A step up from the Exceler's with the plastic crank side plate and stronger drag too. I liked my Advantage, But didn't like the limited gear selection. The Aggrest was a waste of money IMHO, quality wasn't much better than the Exceler, But 2X as much to purchase.
Re: New Revos
Im not sure if anyone has the inside scoop on specs but I would like to know the handle size and whether or not the knobs can be changed on the new STX. I dislike the foam and hate the square knobs. Changing over to some Shimano knobs or something comfortable would be the balls! as best as i can te...
Re: New Revos
Anyone know if the Revo LT or any variant of it will be hitting our shores? I emailed purefishing about the ALT-Elite and the LTX. There are no plans to market them in the USA. I didn't ask about the LT, You could send off an email. There is a seller listing them on fleabay. Reasonable prices, But ...
Re: New Revos
Looks like they are unchanged for now. Last season they revamped the max series and this season the revo's. Maybe next season?RWSCHMITZ wrote:Does anyone have any info on the ABU REVO TORO reels, will they also be new for 2013 ??????????

Re: Arig Reel?
I have been using 6.4:1 on a 3 oz. A-rig and its been fine in 8-10 feet of water. But would like more gear(7's) if the rig was heavier and/or used in shallow water.
