Re: I’m in the market for travel rod.
I have a MB Triza F5-70XTZ- Stympalides. and Love it!!!! But I feel it is under powered in the weeds. It went from just sitting in the travel case to a spot in the boat very versatile rod. I have considered the F7-72XTZ Dragoon. I'm not sure how big snakeheads are but that may be another option.

Re: Daiwa BLXLG731MLFB??
Revving this thread again. Just curious if someone could update their findings on this rod. Looking for a long (over 7-2) medium power rod. Something that could launch small swimbaits, tubes, dark sleepers. was thing of a loomis 892 (GLX or IMX) but I prefer MB tapers.

Re: Steez A HLC or Zillion HD
I agree with Drakestar. I would go with the Zillion HD, I find the steez just limited to bombing cast. (Have zero issues with the steez) been using mine for chatterbaits. Own the zillion but haven't had a chance to use it yet. But already thinking of buying another. And as for appearance of reels th...

Re: MB Brigand - Feedback
Never liked casting this rod. just never really loads up quite right. But love this rod once the bait is in the water, I strictly use it for deep baits, mainly 1/2 ounce tubes, blade baits and 1/4 to 1/2oz swimbaits. Was expecting a bit more from it. wish it was a bit more like the phase 3 beast hunts

Thanks, I wish I could take better pics of that black zillion. So much nicer in person

Re: Show off your OG Zillion
Some beautiful reals posted so far. I’m not one to post much but this thread was too tempting to pass up. Still tweaking with some before our season opens. - 50th anniversay silver and red parts, 7.1 gear set - Deps DR-100ZX - J-dream 5.3 body with silver parts , 7.9 gear set - crazy cranker with bl...

Re: SI for Trolling Motor
I have my front SI unit speed set at 1. I use a troll perfect on my TM and a lot of time set it on constant speed to cruise a shore line. i'll keep about 75 feet away from the shore and scan up to the shore and opposite side of the boat. it's amazing how much structure i come across on the opposite ...

Pfleuger Patriarch vs Lew Tourney Pro
Hey Guys, Both these reels seem pretty nice and are in the same price range. Lews seems to have quite a good reputation, but I can't find much on the the Pfleuger. Has anyone used the the new Pfleuger Patriarch's? And which one would you guys go with? Oh ya it's going on a dobyns 736 champion Thanks

Braid Ready Spools
I know typically you put a backing on before spooling braid. But more and more you start seeing braid ready spools. I fish with lews reels. The super duty has this spool but I've added backing, but i found as the season goes on, with break offs and and re-tying knots, I'm starting to see the backing...

Super Tuning - Pinion and Yoke - Calcutta 200GTB
Ok, So over the winter I pulled apart my Calcutta 200GTB for some maintenance and upgrades. Replaced spool bearings with boca’s and carbon drag washers. Then I start reading up on super tuning. So I polished the shims, the spool shaft, inside the pinion gear and brake race way. Anyway I noticed one ...

Re: Dobyn's 766 - Double Duty Rod?
Thanks for the answers, it brought to light a bunch of stuff i never thought of. The reel (300EJ) has being tuned up, polished parts and all bearings replaced with boca bearings. So flipping and pitching shouldnt be to bad. But I'm realizing that this will more primarily be used as a musky/pike rod....

Dobyn's 766 - Double Duty Rod?
So i'm looking for a double duty rod. I would like to be able to throw smaller musky baits up to 2.5oz but mostly around the 1.5oz range. But i'd also like to use it for a Frog/Flipping/Pitching rod for bass. I already have a reel Curado 300EJ for it. Another rod I was looking at is the Pinnacle Per...
