Definitely sad to hear about this. However, I figured it would come to an end sometime. Good thing I've been switching over to Loomis and St. Croix rods :D

Re: Rods down to land fish

With rods 7' or longer I usually net or hand line. You keep pressure on the fish with the rod up, grab the line, then set the rod down. Keeps pressure on the hook and makes it easier to lip em. I hate swinging all but the smallest fish. Rods are too expensive to risk breaking. Puts a lot of stress ...

Re: What size braid for spinning reel?

If it's a 2000 size spinning reel, I personally use 8lb Fireline. If it's a 3000 size, then I bump up to 14lb Fireline.

+1 on the colors needed. If one isn't producing, then I switch to the opposite color underside and it usually works out pretty well.

Re: Life under the dock

Thanks for sharing! It's interesting to see fish movement patterns and where they like to reside when not feeding. Hope you get a chance to film some other docks!

Haha. 7 Eleven definitely has some shady characters hanging out around there. I've had some friends who worked there back in college and they shared some crazy things that happen late night.

I'd be interested in testing out out to see how it compares to my JDM Certate Hi-Gear Custom.

Re: a crazy experiment

I've used some older fishing line, but no more than 5 years for me. Although it may not be useless, I feel like there is some degradation which has occurred over time. Thanks for posting your findings though.
