Xesta rods
Anyone fished or are familiar with Xesta rods? I do a lot of saltwater ultralight/BFS style of fishing. Looking for heads up on build quality and such. Thanks for any info.

Alphas Air TW mag adjuster stuck
Cleaned and re lubed my Alphas and now I cannot move the mag adjust dial at all. It had been getting a bit tight as of late. Now nothing and I’m afraid I’m gonna snap something. Does anyone know if the mag assembly ( left hand side plate) is a serviceable part or am I going to need to get another wh...

Re: Dobyns Sierra Ultra Finesse Casting Rods
Has anyone used both the 7’ and the 7’4”? I have and absolutely love the 7’ but am thinking of grabbing the 7’4”. Wondering if the longer rod is just as fast and not just longer and sloppier?

Re: Great panfishing with a big surprise
All fun catches but I can only imagine the excitement of landing that snakehead with the ajing rod! Excellent work. What state are you in? I'm in NJ and to my knowledge snakehead are only in the southern part of the state. I’m in South Eastern PA but do the majority of my fishing in S Jersey. They ...

Great panfishing with a big surprise
Had a six species day with my youngest Saturday. By far our best day of the spring with over 100 fish in about 4 hrs with about an hrs worth of fish every cast. My son started the day with his personal best snakehead and our first not actually targeting them. This is his second large fish on the Aji...

Re: Hello and new to the forum
What Copoly line do you use? I love YoZuri, but am having a little trouble finding 4# lately. Almost exclusively SOS in 4 lb. Its low stretch is what kept bringing me back from flouro. I’m very braid spoiled and still use it often but the SOS is great line and keeps me in the water longer with no l...

Hello and new to the forum
I mainly like throwing the jig and plastic but do float fish quite a bit as well. Had some very good crappie and gill action last few trips. Rod is yamaga blue current 74 II JIGHEAD Reel is Ballistic 1000 FW LT 4 lb copolymer B56B57A9-645E-455B-9F42-89FDDE9063FB.jpeg 5F94DAE9-3601-4BAF-B7DA-D6907DE6...

Re: Double Trouble
On the East Coast here we use a teaser rig when we plug for Stripers. It consists of a large fly or weightless plastic in front of your plug. You end up getting most fish on the teaser but when there are lots of fish around like in the fall doubles are not uncommon at all. Two schoolies at at time i...

Re: Daiwa SS Tournament reels ???
I totally agree with aquaholic. I use a 1600 and a 2600 on a fairly regular basis and they will outcast any reel you can put them up against. I still like an instant anti reverse reel for some things, but they are one reel that one way or another stays in the rotation. Like was said before if they c...

Re: Fireline - anything better?
I am another one that has to go with Power Pro. Even after an entire year of use in saltwater you will not get the fuzzies like you do with Fireline.

Re: I need a Surf Casting Reel....
I would recommend a 6500 Garcia. I use a 6500 and a 525 mag. I have a ct mag elite and a cs sports mag and both can be made quite tame with the proper oil and mag settings. I like the 525 with the extra mag carriage more and it will outcast the 6500 but they don't make a lefty. I would reccomend swa...

Re: Shimano Stradic 2500FH for Saltwater Usage
I have used both the 2500 and 4000 in saltwater extensively, and think for your application it should serve you well.
