Re: Daiwa J Braid Grand 8,15,20, 30lbs ABS and Knot Breaking Strength Tests
Curious as to why you did not test the 8 and 15 lb. strengths with the PR knot, especially given the inconsistent FG knot results with the 15 lb. line. Does the PR knot not work well with thinner lines, or were you just more interested in the higher-strength lines? I like to test PR knot in higher ...

Re: Shimano Stradic 19
We only get the HG here in Aus. Would've rathered the PG myself - hate the HG reels personally. Yep. Ordered all my 3000- 4000 FK PG from Japan. Got a 3000 FL in 5.0:1 from Malaysia for $165 shipped 3 weeks ago. I don't give a damn about Shimano USA now. If I need pinion or main gear, I'll just ord...

Re: Shimano Stradic 19
And once again Shimano USA denies us the option to purchase the standard gear ratio option(not HG or XG) on all 5 sizes
. Just saw the Shimano USA website and the sizes and gear options.

Re: Forum Restrictions
The photo thing is still not fixed. You can't expect us to contribute and make in depth reel review tear down by downsizing everything to 800x600. Linking pics from external site is getting old. How clear / large do the pictures need to be? All I've been doing is screen shooting what I want / cropp...

Re: Forum Restrictions
To be clear... we’re not planning on going anywhere. Just trying to resolve the issue of posting photos and it is admittedly taking too long. The point of this post was primarily to address those complaining about our restriction of posting links to personal social media accounts, primarily YouTube...

Re: Shimano Stradic 19
Thank You.
They can't seem to make their mind up on the line roller design. All the latest Twinpower, Sustain, Stella use the pressed in bearing integrated line roller. I'm sure you can swap out to replaceable bearing as long as you add the necessary parts to go along with it.

Re: Shimano Stradic 19
Is that "shimanopromotions.com.au"? So you have to register the product before they send you a link to download the schematics?

Re: Shimano Stradic 19
Can you post a link to the schematics on Shimano Australia site. I'm not seeing it under the saltwater reel or fishing reel and the main page with the Stradic FL doesn't seem to have any link to any schematics. Thank you.

Re: Nanobraid, Gliss opinions
I have been using Gliss almost exclusively for the last several winter smallmouth seasons. It is absolutely true that it has poor abrasion resistance so the use of a leader is mandatory. I normally use 24 lb with a 10 lb sniper leader about 7 feet long secured with a FG knot. Even though the line h...

Re: New fireline fused 8 carrier
If I like the FG knot strength and S/W, I'm going to order the 8 and 10 lbs. Hopefully it has the FG knot strength of the 4 strands Fireline Crystal or better. For some reason, the new fused 8 carrier has terrible FG knot strength in the 60% and not the usual 80%.
