Re: New Steez A II vs High End Shimano’s
I'm a shimano fanboy and I am a Daiwa fanboy. Between the upper echelons of both brands it really is splitting hairs in my opinion. I own the new '22 Bantam and a '20 Met and they are phenomenal reels. They are both solid as a tank and are casting machines. I enjoy using the Met in 6.2:1 on my crank...

Re: Straight up long distance
Among my current lineup, it's probably going to be the 2020 MET. Might have to use thin braid so it doesn't get spooled though. These light MGL spools with mono or braid(lightweight line that keeps total spool weight down) will absolutely launch baits into orbit because you can keep the break settin...

ML bottom contact rod recommedation
I'm on the prowl for a dedicated 1/4 oz finesse jig/bottom contact casting rod. Total bait weight=8-12 grams... Has anyone experience with the Shimano Expride 72ML(A or B?) and would it have have sufficient power? If I had $600 I'd just get the Daiwa Steez AGS 'The Sensor'...but on paper the Sensor ...

Re: Your most versatile rod?
Steez AGS 73MH UP; fantastic across its lure rating, 1/4-1 oz. For me it shines with 5/16 oz t-rigs and 3/8 oz finesse jigs. Very good with moving baits too; imho, the perfect mh bass rod. Very crisp, very sensitive, and keeps fish pinned pretty well. Right now I have a '19 Morethan PE TW1000XHL w/ ...

Re: Casting Ned Rig rod
I like the Daiwa Steez AGS 6'8" light for Ned's. I have a Phenix K2 713 ML but I use it mostly for small jerkbaits. The Steez AGS 6'8" light has the "megatop" and is an excellent casting ned rod. I prefer to fish ned rigs on spinning however, and the Steez 6'10" "The Ned" is by far my favorite ligh...

Re: Finesse/BFS reel for distance casting?
Gekkabijin!! For 2-5 gram baits it is is going to be very difficult to find something that casts farther. I use light braid(8#) >FG> to a 25’ Tatsu 6# leader with excellent success. Wrecked the smallmouth on the river today including a 3.3# on a Zman Tubez+1/24 oz jighead. What a fight! Casting is v...

Re: Honest opinions...is BFS really worth trying?
Yes. I've caught more fish with a TRD TubeZ 2.75" on a 1/24 oz jighead than with any other bait ever. Big fish, too. That includes multiple +3# and a 4# SMB, as well as walleye, panfish, all kinds of fish. The total weight of this bait is around 2.5-3 grams and there is something about the slow sink...

I'd be interested in knowing if the 3 Zenon MG reels all share the same diameter spool?

Re: Abu Garcia Revo aficionados question
Thank you for the info! It looks like the new LTX is the replacement of the MGXtreme2 but with a slightly shallower spool and possibly a drag clicker? I can't wait to see the review of the MG-LTX. Daiwa and Shimano get a lot of love on here and for good reason...I have a lot of their equipment too b...

Re: New Steez A II vs High End Shimano’s
For the Steez A 2, whay spool options are out there for a little less line capacity. Something that holds around 110 yds of 12 lb line. The ‘19 Daiwa Morethan PE spool is a shallower spool that would be right there in that ball park. A lot of guys put Steez A spools in the Morethan because they nee...
