Kistler Rods Pricing
So, is Kistler's pricing tactic of always showing a massive price for a rod and then saying 'its what we would have sold them at had we sold to a big store but you get it at this way lower price" legit? ie have his rods ever actually been listed anywhere at the giant price? been looking into his rod...

Re: Silver Thread AN40 versus McCoy Mean Green
for what its worth, Sufix Siege in Smoke Green is the best overall mono I have ever used.
its limp enough to use on spinning gear (casts great in 4-10 pound tests) and awesome on a baitcasting reel (I use 12 on my curado 200)
not sure how it holds up in line comparison tests though

Re: New GLX
Up here in Canada, the Loomis pricing goes like this: GCX $350 IMX Pro $530 GLX $775 NRX+ $899 Conquest $1079 I have two IMX Pro rods and love them but I will never be able to step up to the next level unless I win the lotto lol and even then, $500+ for a rod is a lot in a place where our cost of li...
Re: New GLX
How much did these go up in price relative to the previous generation?
Re: New GLX
true but it won't be a Loomis blank. You can have a custom built for a fraction of the cost to mimic the look and components
Re: New GLX
to be honest, I kind of like how they went back to the classic black and gold colors.
These were the colors of the GLX when it was first introduced. black blank, gold logo, gold trim.

Re: New GLX
Not that I can afford one lol, but the one set of rods that was missing from the old GLX line was SJR and MBR rods in the 7'6 lengths. The IMX Pro and NRX + have them but not in the middle with the GLX.
It looks like these aren't included this time around either. Its very weird.

Re: New GLX
I have already started buying more lotto tickets.

I have the MBR 903C in the IMX Pro version and it is an amazing rod
rocket launcher caster. I use it with a curado 200i and 12 pound test Sufix Siege.

Re: Recommendations for a hairjig rod
I have the IMX Pro SJR 901 which is a 7'6 light powered spinning rod that I use for all kinds of small lures and it amazing. but it was designed specifically for throwing small hair jigs. its rated for up to 5/16 oz lures and I use a Nasci 1000 reel on it with 6 pound test Sufix Siege. 358560957_101...

Re: Spinning reel for lighter crank and jerkbaits
stradic 3000.
but I would use a good quality mono like Sufix Siege or Elite rather than floro.
its too stiff on spinning gear
