I don't use braid, but I've used the Madbull for it with 15# fluoro. Can even handle 3/4s ounce jackhammers and the new big blade chatterbait.
How is the handle when your hands get wet? Does it get slippery?
I'm a kayak guy and it hasn't been a problem yet.

Re: New Curado 150 or 70MGL?

Which rod are you gonna pair with? I use my Curado 70s on 3-power/(light)MH rods (i.e. a GLX 843 MBR). On a 4-power I go to a 150. I don't find spool capacity to be an issue anyway when fishing for bass, so if you're not worried about overall capacity, I'd make the power of the rod the deciding fac...

Re: Help me choose a new reel!

The new Zillion SV TW is incredible for the price.

If you like your Bantam, you could always look at the new Bantam A as well!

Re: How you liking your 7’3mh Steez ags utility player?

I get to be contrarian; I didn't keep mine. Fished it with various Daiwas (Steez A, Steez SV TW, Zillion SV TW), and it never clicked for me. I went off of what the Daiwa site said it was for, and it felt like a 'jack of all trades, master of none', and never really clicked for me. When I got into ...

Re: New Poison Adrena

Anyone have any experience with the 72 M/R? Been looking at getting it to replace another rod, and it looks like a decent moving bait rod on paper.

Re: Short List for My New Rod: Help!

The Rebellion is a sweet little rod. Reminds me of the old Orochi XX Spinnerbait Special, and that's a good thing, and it definitely covers all of the things you want it to do out of the kayak. Don't sleep on the Head Turner though. The Expert line really bats above it's weight class at it's price, ...

Re: ALX Enox?

I've owned three (BMJ, Strike, & Hunch), and while they aren't part of my collection anymore as I've trended more towards enthusiast stuff, I was pretty impressed with them. The BMJ in particular. Outside of the Strike, they were certainly more moderate fast than fast, but I've noticed that that wa...

We've had nothing but rain for the last few days, but getting ready to rig up for the weekend and...I have such a problem.

Man these rods are special. The Power Pitch might be my favorite rod ever.

Re: 8+:1 Gear Ratio Reels

I've only ever liked 8 gears for frogs. I've grown to tolerate it for when I'm throwing a texas rig, but the only time I feel like that kind of speed (at the sacrifice of winching power) works for me is with a frog. I know tons of guys love it for flipping though. I just like a 7 gear in those techn...

Re: One Texas rig/small rig jod

For me, my 'silly versatile' medium-ish power rod is the new Steez AGS 'Moving Bait Versatile'. I've done everything that Daiwa says it's good for (3/8th oz swim jigs, spinnerbaits, and chatterbaits; senkos and flukes), but it's also a killer finesse jig rod and I've even thrown a 1/4 oz texas rig w...
