I'm thinking Ride the Lightning. But that's a damn sexy looking rod.Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 1:57 pmOh heck yes! He needs another Seek and Destroy rod now. How fitting

Re: Point Blank 701LXF specs
Got it on my desk, ordered it but it’s way too close to the 701MLF I already got. A tiny bit softer in the backbone and less fast in the tip section. So it’s not XF what so ever. I’ve measured both according to the Tackle Tour method and for both the graphs turned out super close on the Medium Powe...

Point Blank 701LXF specs
Conflicting specs on their website. One spot on their site says 1/32-3/8. Another spot on the site says 1/16-3/16. Anyone built on this blank?

Re: 8+:1 Gear Ratio Reels
I have a naturally fast reeling speed, so I tend to be a bit specific depending on presentation. 5 speed for deep diving cranks. 6 or 7 speed for square bills, chatter baits, or spinnerbaits. 8 speed for bottom contact, jerkbaits, and topwater.

Re: Best all around action for BFS
I'm going to start by building a couple of more budget minded rods first. Maybe a couple of panfish rods before I start with a pricier blank. When getting into UL blanks, they can vary so much...even with the same ratings. Can you recommend or rank some blanks that fish true to ratings. Still doing...

Re: Best all around action for BFS
I've come to the conclusion I'm going to want more than one setup. And in true tackle monkey fashion I've also decided to take up rod building. Down the rabbit hole I go.

Re: Best all around action for BFS
FWIW, I’ve been very happy with the Major Craft Days DYC-652UL/BF BFS rod. 1-10 g lure rating but I’d say 2-8 is more realistic. Definitely a bass rod, as opposed to most of my other rods that tend towards being trout rods. That one is on my list of rods to consider. Been looking hard at Major Craf...

Re: Old 18 rods?
I have the arrius 7’ UL casting. It’s been a great rod foe me for bfs. Super light & great action. I’m sourcing a light action rod and wouldn’t hesitate to do another old 18. Do you use it for treble hook baits or jigs? What type of line do you use? Wanting a jack of all trades rod to start with.Th...

I fish braid to a mono leader. Still go with a fast taper, or mod-fast?

Re: Old 18 rods?
I've watched a couple of Rx angler's videos. Not sure if he has a deal with them or not. Would be interesting to know where they get their blanks from though.

Best all around action for BFS
I want a jack of all trades type of rod for my first bfs setup. Looking for recommendations for best action. Looking to throw small hardballs as well as small marabou and hair jigs.
