Re: Shimano Teramar XX
I handled some at a tackle shop today on the Texas Coast. First thing I thought when I saw it was a different colored expride. Really lightweight and very similar feel and action to the expride. Main difference is the Teramar has both high power and spiral x wrappings where the expride only has high...

Re: Rod for 1/2oz - 1 1/2oz topwater?
A little on the pricey side, but the Megabass Destroyer Killer Code is my preferred top water rod. 6'6", heavy regular taper, rated 3/8 to 2 oz, I've fished the 77.7 shower blow up to full sized walking baits with it. Plenty of tip for casting the lighter baits but enough backbone it doesn't ever fe...

Shimano Monocoque Handle
Watching BASS live it sure looks like Bernie Shultz is using a new model Expride that has Shimano's monocoque handle. If that is what he's using, could we see by next year all of Shimano's higher end rods using that handle design. I've never handled one and am not sure exactly what the upside would ...

Re: Dying plastic baits
Get some green pumpkin Spike-It Dye and dip as you go. With them being white they should dye pretty easy.

Re: Kistler 2020 prices up!
I was hopeful they were going to be able to create their own blank factory because we need more competition based in North America, but rolling your own blanks is a lot harder than it seems. Obviously or else we would have more than three? Maybe there is more, but I can only think of Loomis, St. Cr...

Re: Waterloo Rods Help
After they were sold the new owners took the business more to the saltwater side, since the guy who bought it was a guide down there. Funny you say they used to use IMX blanks since I had heard they used to us St. Croix blanks, but there's really no telling for sure. I can't say for sure if they use...

Re: Higher End Rods
I'm really leaning towards the poison now, but at the price of the expride and the amount of guys talking highly of them, I might have to get one or two to replace some lower end rods I have.

Re: Waterloo Rods Help
Yes the original owner sold the company and teamed with his brother to start Yeti. I don't have any experience with the pre-sale rode lines, but they are one of the more popular rod companies down on the Texas coast. The mag line of rods has fairly big following.

Re: Higher End Rods
I'm thinking a jerkbait topwater rod. I have a Kistler KLX Crank, Rip and Twitch for that purpose but the tip is a lot softer than I expected.

Higher End Rods
I just ordered a Metanium MGL and I want to get a higher end rod for it. I am looking at getting into the Megabass line, what are some suggestions of rods I should look at from any of the better companies. I have a couple of G-Loomis and high end Kistler rods.

Re: Duce Rods?
I bought one last year specifically for wade fishing the salt. I was pleased with it, very light. I did seem to me to be a little softer than the specified rating.
