Re: New Steez Air Tw?
TW closing out the reel ($399 for a $619 retail reel) suggests to me that they’re trying to purge inventory to #1) Focus sales on the more popular CT (they did the same with the 700 models when the USDM CT 70 was coming out) and #2) There’s a future reel coming to replace it next winter (Japan expo...

Re: New Steez Air Tw?
Are you sure they're being closed out? Often these reels get cheaper on the JDM market as the demand drops. It's supposed to be about the same price as the Steez Limited, which is what I've seen lately.

Re: NRX 873C CRR Balance (tip-heaviness)
Thanks Russ, love his channel and appreciate you sharing this link. Good to know the + model improves the balance of the 873 some. I'm just curious to see what folks with experience with the NRX line have to say about the balance of this blank in comparison to other models in the lineup. I've heard...

Re: Toray graphite
The link I posted does have an asterisk at the end of the paragraph regarding the m40x. It indeed says only in the models you listed. However, the article is prior to the new '22 models as listed on Tackle Havenn (triangle grip 6'10" M and 7' MH). You would think the newest models would have the bla...

Re: Shimano Expride Thoughts??
Great info. Thank you. Sounds like the PG is probably somewhere between the blue Steez AGS that I have and my GLXs in terms of sensitivity. I wanted the PG 610M badly, but it looks like it may be too fast for jerkbaits and other smaller hooked moving baits. I was kinda hoping I could get it mainly f...

Re: Shimano Expride Thoughts??
I have the 6 10 medium, the 2 piece 2017 JDM version. I absolutely love that rod, exactly what I wanted. It is in my permanent collection now, do not plan to replace it. On the other hand it is difficult to say how good they are. I mean even Shimano has their own higher end series, so it is not the...

Re: X-Bites vs BC2
I think the P5 Dark Sleeper and Steez Utility player are probably both better suited for those presentations. Have you considered those? The BC and X-bites are definitely more geared towards jigs and texas, while the Dark Sleeper and Utility Player can handle both bottom contact and moving baits exc...

Re: Kistler Helium?
I wouldn't mind stripping down my NFC helium and putting a new guide train and composite cork butt cap on it to help with overall balance. I love the blank, but the build definitely leaves me wanting.

Re: Kistler klx tech spec
They no longer use the same blank in KLX and Helium. They've moved away from North Forks and started using Fuji blanks. The Helium and Z bone appear to use the same blanks, or at least the same material anyways. I don't have any experience with the new blanks of any model, but the North Forks blanks...

Re: Opinions Only Fully Subjective Input, Dobyns Champ line vs Megabass Levante
You will find a better value outside of the Levante line imo. You can probably get an Orochi XXX from Japan for about the same money, and there are some good sticks in that line. Heck, some of the P5 Destroyers for about $330 after shipping right now. The dollar is doing us favors for sure. Also, t...

Re: Opinions Only Fully Subjective Input, Dobyns Champ line vs Megabass Levante
I also love the way the Levantes look, but all those people reporting breakages and the resdesign that just recently occurred as a response to the breakage issue has me wondering if I should really get one or not... Shouldn't the fact that Megabass replaced affected rods, pulled them off the market...

Re: New Legend Tournament
There is good chance that what you are thinking is the blank on a lot of rods is in fact, some sort of insert . This is what allows one reel reat to be used for rods with blank diameter tuning from ultra skinny F1 to F7 powers on the same seat. One of the dead giveaways is that the finish on the "e...
