Re: Is this a legitimate vendor?

99.9% it's fake like how my rod's carbon content is

It's posing as The Hook Up Tackle.

Look at those rod prices. Conquest under $100. If it's too good to be true, it probably is ](*,)

Re: Bfs bait caster recommendation

With those lure weight ranges, I wouldn't recommend an actual BFS reel, especially if 1/8oz weights are in the extreme end of your lower lure ratings. Your Daiwa SVs should be doable. But if you're just more considering the lightness in your setup, look at the '18 Shimano Aldebaran MGL 50 or 30, wei...

Re: Major Craft Days 360

seems that the prices have doubled from the existing Days series It appears so, but fwiw the better blank, titanium framed guides and the few extra glamor pieces make it more like a reincarnated msx than than a days series rod. I was thinkin' the same too. I wonder if they'll make other bass lines ...

Re: EWG Light Wire Hooks for Light T-Rigs

For light Texas rigs, I use the Owner J Light hooks. I feel the wire is thinner than the standard Gamakatsu Offset EWG hooks. I use the 1/0 size for 3" baits like the Rage Baby Bug, but 2/0 would work just as well for size reference.

Re: bottoms up jig is a no go

this is not the jig for me too small. i want to try it as it has great components its like a magnum micro jig Oh ... they look like they could be great for my (power) BFS setup. Is the total weight of the jig accurate, or is it like a 1/8oz weight head + the weight of skirt + the weight of the hook...

Re: Shallow spools

There are many factors to consider, and distance is achieved through various technicalities. Such technicalities would be the reel, lure, rod, line, etc. Note that there are also technicalities within each technicality ](*,) Let's just focus on the reel and lure for simplicity. A reel (spool) needs ...

'16 "upgraded" Aldebaran BFS vs '22 Aldebaran BFS

Hey y'all, I appreciate owners of both reels trying to help me out. I have the '16 Aldebaran BFS XG and customized it with an aftermarket spool (Avail) as well as installed a BFS bearing on its side plate. Those with a similar upgrade, how does your customized '16 compare against the stock '22 model...

Re: Aldebaran 2016 BFS - ideal lure weight range?

I’ve gone as low as 1.3g but once I got up near 1.8-2g the spool really started doing well. 2-4g range is it’s sweet spot. Yup, I can also confirm. Out the box and using 0.148mm diameter line, I experienced 1/16oz lures gave me line fluff every so often. A 1/8oz weight is where I'll start to get ma...

If you go to finesse fishing he has the C’ultiva SBL-35 and some gamakatsu single hooks. Both have the eye orientation you are looking for.
Thanks for the seller! Appreciate the help.

Re: Single replacement hooks help

Are there any manufactures that make traditional eye-styled single hooks that are meant to replace treble hooks? Yeah what you want are the spoon singles - Owner S-61 and Vanfook SP-41MB are two I've used to good effect. Problem with these spoon singles...they have a longer shank than the regular p...

Single replacement hooks help

Hi there I'm starting to switch out the treble hooks on my jerkbaits to Owner single replacement hooks. However, I noticed some of my baits have different directional rings at the end and the usual single replacement hooks won't do because the hook would then be facing out the sides. Are there any m...

What was your rod's breaking point?

Hi y'all I'd love to hear any stories you might be willing to share about your ultra light or light powered rod snapping when out fishing, be it from setting the hook too hard to forcing your way out of a snag. I have my sights on a BFS light powered rod that I plan to occasionally use for bass fish...
