Re: Choose a rod brand

Daiwa for me. Love the steez AGS rods too much. Megabass would be a close second.

Re: Jerkbait rod

I'm a big fan of fishing a jerk bait. I find I need two styles of rods for this application. One, a short casting rod with a nice moderate flex but a responsive blank. My current favorite is the Megabass JDM P5 F4-65X Oneten Stick. This "Japan Style" jerk bait rod simply gets it done when I want to...

Re: Megabass Madbull vs Steez

I have the madbull, 71 Valkyrie and Steez AGS i like the madbull for lipless, topwater, buzzbaits, but mainly use it for top water. its super light and easy to use for extended periods. i have used it for chatterbaits but much prefer the 71 mh valkyrie. i didnt get the best hook up ratio with the m...

Re: Evergreen International Dire Wolf Wild 7

The rod was finally delivered today after being stuck in Alaska for almost a week (FedEx has really gone downhill). The rod has a nice progressive regular taper to it. I think it will be great for 3/8-3/4 oz bladed jigs and larger top water. What’s been your experience with the rod? I haven't put e...

Re: Steez AGS 72H

How would you rate sensitivity? I had an 854 NRX for roughly 12 minutes and it is clearly more sensitive than that rod was lol. For a pretty powerful rod, it is impressively sensitive in my hands. I think it is a standout in the line. Thanks for the reply! What reel do you have mounted on the rod, ...

Re: Steez AGS 72H

I have thrown 1/4 oz Texas rigs plus plastic and it loaded and casted it well. The 7’2H has a nice lively tip imo and is overall a very versatile and impressive rod.

I love the 7’1 MH Valkyrie. It gets my vote for a dedicated chatterbait rod.

Re: How you liking your 7’3mh Steez ags utility player?

Also tempted to pick up the Tachyon Shaft too to compare it to the Target Sniper which I really enjoy using… that rod skips jigs like a dream. But I’m torn between the TShaft or getting a Wind Buster I’m interested in both of those rods as well. But I’m a big fan of the TS Well I didn't get either ...

I am going to hit up Lake Gaston in NC for the first time in early March or late February. Everything here in MD is iced up.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about North Carolina lakes as well.
