Re: New GLX

At the price the GLX can’t compete with the Destroyer, Steez, Xtreme(on sale, which they almost always are). This is a hard pass for me. I sold my old GLXs because the sensitivity wasn’t better than my elites and the handle was the most uncomfortable one in my collection. I’m glad they brought out s...

Re: New Zillion Rods

Why would I spend $300 on this when i can get a JDM steez for that price? This thing is horrible aesthetically. I belive it is just a half assed attempt at capitilizing off the popularity of the zillion name. Having a valid warranty and getting some AGS actions and blank for $200 less than a Steez ...

I’ve had them offer discounts on higher end Loomis gear over the phone. Good place to buy.

Re: Loomis NRX users: please help a guy out...

imagine not being able to fish a rod or a reel because of the "look" of it. :-({|= When compared to the Legend Xtreme and new Steez which are just as sensitive (I own all 3) it’s worth noting how terrible they look. I still fish my NRXs but they aren’t aesthetically pleasing. I would prefer they lo...

Re: Looking for help on NRX + 873

That tells me all I need. Going to pick one up. Anyone with a hook up? [-o< Thank you all very much, Ireally appreciate it. Hey what are you guys pairing them up with. Im looking at a Matanium or new Zillion TWSV. It balances better with a Bantam. I second the Bantam. Tried a USDM zillion, Met, and...

Re: Steez Finesse Game Special

To clarify, are you asking about the spinning version: STAGS711MLFS | 7'1" MedLight, Fast, 5-12lb, 1/8-3/8oz, "Finesse Game Special" or the casting version: STAGS681LFB | 6'8" Light, Fast, 5-12lb, 1/8-3/8oz, "Finesse Game Special"? They have similar specifications but, in my experience, have differ...

I NEVER pay MSRP so I usually spend around $300-350 and get really nice rods for that money.

Re: Rod Suggestion for Chatterbait/Shallow Cranks/Lipless

Supposedly the USDM Destroyer Javelin was good option, but it was 7'5" and is discontinued. Also doesn't look like they brought that model over to the P5 USDM line. USDM P5 has the Javelin model in the lineup. TT has a brief overview of it. Still my favorite rod of all time. I’ll be buying at least...

Re: Nrx 893c vs Megabass P5 X-bites

Xbites - too soft for solid hook sets with more than an 1/8 oz weight. Superb balance and weight. Sensitive as any rod I’ve owned. Really? I've had no problem with hard hook sets in brush w/3/8 oz. jigs. I wouldn't put a 3/4 oz. jig on it in cover, but zero problems, imo up to 1/2 oz. in cover. Ver...

Re: St.Croix Legend Xtreme

I prefer my 7’1 MHXF over my NRX+ 893 for 1/4 and 5/16oz presentations to the point I sold the 893. The sensitivity I get from my Legend Elites/X are close to NRX and half the price. The Xtreme is just as sensitive as my NRX+ 873 CRR. I’m my opinion which is my personal thoughts the NRX line wasn’t ...

Re: Nrx 893c vs Megabass P5 X-bites

I owned both, sold the x-bites for the NRX+ 893, sold the 893 for a mhxf legend Xtreme. Xbites - too soft for solid hook sets with more than an 1/8 oz weight. Superb balance and weight. Sensitive as any rod I’ve owned. 893 - Really long, fast tip. Didn’t enjoy the balance, sensitivity was as expecte...

Re: MB Valkyrie vs CB Wild Bunch

I owned the WB and the only thing you listed I don’t like it for is Frogs. It’s quite moderate and I had issues at times really sticking fish. I’m swinging from a kayak and that makes a huge difference though. Otherwise I adored the rod and feel like it was overlooked in the Carbon Head line. I rece...

Re: Hows it going with Your Otomat rod?

Shallow to medium cranks, 1/4 chatterbaits, jerkbaits, lipless, flukes, and the list goes on. The Otomat is one of if not the most versatile reaction rods I own. The smooth action leads it to be able to do so much. I’d not try to rip single hook baits through cover, but light baits with minimal vege...

Re: Steez AGS 72H

I do not own the 7’2”, but I do own the BC2 and 7’4” XH. From my experience both are capable of hitting their lower limits. The XH more so as it’s a touch softer in the tip with a stronger midsection. The BC2 is a traditional fast action. In my hands the new Steez rods are equivalent to the NRX+. I ...

Has anyone tried the new 7’6XH? Thinking about using it as a 1oz punch rod and 5-6 inch swimbait stick.
