Re: Best Squarebill Rod
I use a Loomis 843CBR for Squares and lipless 1/2oz and lighter. it's set up with 30#braid and 15# leader on a Shimano Curado 70. accurate and sensitive

Re: Expride actions
Here's Cal's old review of the 171H btw. Has a deflection chart comparing it to a Loomis 844, , the rod looks a bit stiffer/more powerful than that 844 under load. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshimanoexpride171hpg2.html that's two versions old. this version was a 2-piece model. the new version i...

Re: Has everyone forgot the Shimano Chronarch is even a thing?
I think the current ChronarchMGL is a great reel. I got one 3 years ago and it still impresses me every time I use it. Since then I added 2 Metaniums (16 and 20), Bantam and all models of Curados and SLX, including the DC's. I'm constantly trying to match the strengths of each reel with different ro...

Re: New Curado 150 or 70MGL?
The 150 has the same 32mm spool diameter as the 70 mgl but it's a touch wider and much deeper. I've used the 150 for jerkbaits a lot recently and it did great. However the smaller palming reels like the curado 70, aldebaran, steez ct and alphas sv tw to me are the most comfortable reels out there f...

Re: New Curado 150 or 70MGL?
Which rod are you gonna pair with? I use my Curado 70s on 3-power/(light)MH rods (i.e. a GLX 843 MBR). On a 4-power I go to a 150. I don't find spool capacity to be an issue anyway when fishing for bass, so if you're not worried about overall capacity, I'd make the power of the rod the deciding fac...

Re: Megabass price increase
The list goes on and on but the truth is that the Orochi XX line is unnecessarily heavy and way overpriced, especially now with the increase! It's really hard to agree on The Truth on TackleTour, btw. Strong, passionate and informed opinions that include phrases like "In my mind..." and "Personally...

Re: New Curado 150 or 70MGL?
I really like the way the Curado 150 MGL palms...it's amazing. It feels great in hand and mounted on a rod. I'm thinking about selling my 200E and 200I reels to get more of them. I'll probably end up completely retiring my 50E collection as well because the new 150 MGL has more line capacity and fa...

New Curado 150 or 70MGL?
I'm a Shimano guy. I'm looking at a new reel for maybe Pitching jigs, or jerk baits or just about anything. I already have one of the new 150MGL HG but considering something different for different techniques and looked at the 70MGL. It's more compact than the 150 and has a smaller diameter MGL spoo...

It looks similar to the reel seat/handle on the Conquest and some of the G Loomis rods. I first used this grip on the e6x 842 and I really like it...

Re: Megabass price increase
I noticed megabass has raised prices on the orochi and levante 50$. Do you think they are pricing themselves out of the competition? Is a orochi worth 100$ more than a expride? I don't know for sure if Orochi is worth more than an Expride but at current prices (before they BOTH increase) I think th...
