Yes it does. I'm pretty sure USDM and JDM 24 Metanium DC are basically identical except for the 6.2 gear ratio is not available in the US.

I do not have the schematic for these yet. The reels should have the schematics in the box. I just do not have a pdf version to check yet. The Metanium has an Mg side plate. It is not CI4. The Aldebaran uses carbon side plates, maybe that is where the confusion happened. Stripped threads in the composite side plates isn't very common. Screws going into a handle side Ci4+ side plate is a big NO NO for me.

Why did it took them almost half a decade to add dc brakes into a 2020 reel? Its not like they had to build a brand new frame and a digital braking system.
