Re: 2024 Metanium DC
My 24 metanium DC is the first Shimano I bought that has an aluminum MM gear, I've always read about the old "Metanium gear buzz", Some guys have no issues with it, but some guys end up replacing them with the trusted brass main gear set. I read somewhere that this new aluminum main gear is supposed...

Re: 2024 Metanium DC
How’s the new Metanium DC treating everyone so far? Pretty smooth and casts well? I've only used it for a few times and it's pretty good so far, been using it with my Adrena 611M+, 3/8 oz. chatter bait minimax and 14 lb. sniper. Very smooth on the retrieve, the only way I can describe it for now is...

Re: 2024 Metanium DC...
Hey guys, I need the part number for the handle assembly of a 24 Metanium DC 71XG please. Thanks. PN: 1469V since the reel just came out I don’t think shimano north america will have any parts available for at least 6-8 months but Bantam1 can confirm or not Thanks, I got the same part number from a...

Re: 2024 Metanium DC...
Yes it does. I'm pretty sure USDM and JDM 24 Metanium DC are basically identical except for the 6.2 gear ratio is not available in the US.

Re: 2024 Metanium DC...
I do not have the schematic for these yet. The reels should have the schematics in the box. I just do not have a pdf version to check yet. Thanks for the reply, sorry I forgot to mention that mine is a JDM version. it's a 71 and came with 84mm handle. Schematics for US version is not available onli...

Re: Chronarch MGL...
The Metanium has an Mg side plate. It is not CI4. The Aldebaran uses carbon side plates, maybe that is where the confusion happened. Stripped threads in the composite side plates isn't very common. It usually only happens if you overtighten the screw, or cross thread it slightly. Remember they are ...

Re: Chronarch MGL...
I appreciate all the response so far but as an owner of 2 Metanium, 4 Bantam and a few more, I know for sure that the screws go through the frame and into the side handle plate so the new Metanium DC based on that platform should not be any different and yes, all pictures show that to be the case. ...

Re: Chronarch MGL...
If the palm side plate and the star drag are Ci4 and the handle side plate stays magnesium, then I'm all in!

One of the screw holes in the handle side plate is now stripped for some reason (located at the bottom closest to the reel foot), I was just doing a regular maintenace and always been very careful with my reels when it comes down to tightening those screws specially when a screw is going into a plas...

Re: 2024 Metanium DC
A Shimano Pro staff mentioned Ci4+ side plates on US version, both side plates or just palming side plate?
Screws going into a handle side Ci4+ side plate is a big NO NO for me.

Re: Bearing oil
My apologies if this goes in a different forum. Wasn’t sure. Wondering what bearing oil are you using for Shimano reels. I used to use yellow rocket fuel but I’m running low. What’s the standard out there currently. Thanks. Bantam Oil dude! https://fishshop.shimano.com/collections/lubricants/produc...

Re: 2024 Releases/Rumors
Why did it took them almost half a decade to add dc brakes into a 2020 reel? Its not like they had to build a brand new frame and a digital braking system. I could be wrong on this, but this new Metanium DC looks like it's a bit wider than the non-DC version. Only makes sense since the 20 Metanium ...
