Re: Curado BFS - Remove N Magnets?
Follow-up: Removing them wasn't a good idea. It bird nested at the 4 setting with both N magnets removed. Seems the bearings were over-lubed which took several casts to work through.

Curado BFS - Remove N Magnets?
Anyone using this reel with the "N" magnets removed? Spool isn't freewheeling at the 1 (lowest) setting even with a tiny bit of spool play. Reel will be on a Dobyns 6'9" Sierra L/F and with 7lb FC for the first time out.
Re: Shoes?
I settled on well-used but not quite worn out New Balance 1122 running/walking shoes for the boat. One outing of bare foot fishing all day convinced me to not do that again. Would like to find a similar waterproof shoe but haven't found anything yet.

Re: High Speed (9-10:1) options
Thanks for the Revo SX LP link and mentioning Tackletrap. May pick up a Revo and speed up the Zillion anyway since it never saw much shallow crank duty last year.

Re: High Speed (9-10:1) options
I have a Zillion SVTW and Tatula SVTW in the same 6.3 gear ratio. Could I do a gear swap on either of those to 9:1 or higher?

High Speed (9-10:1) options
What are my options in the $250 range? I had luck bombing jigs into cattails last weekend and managed to yank out a few decent sized bass. A Tatula 8.1 got the job done (on BassX MH/F) but prefer something slightly faster. Reel will likely live on a H/F Ark Lancer and I also plan on using the combo ...

Re: Daiwa Deep Crankbait Reel Options
Not familiar with the Catalina series but appears they would weigh as much as the Millionaire 203.
What’s a good source for Daiwa spools? I’d like to try a deeper spool on the Zillion SV TW 6.3 which is used for shallow crank baits.

Re: Daiwa Deep Crankbait Reel Options
Thanks for the info. Speaking of Zillions, could I install a deeper spool in the SV TW 6.3? If so, what's a good source to get one?

Re: Daiwa Deep Crankbait Reel Options
Tatula 150 will probably work. Goal is to work out a crank bait setup for both shallow and deep since rod locker space is at a premium. Only question now is 6.3 or 7.3.

Re: Daiwa Deep Crankbait Reel Options
I do have a Zillion SV TW 6.3 on a Shimano SLX crank rod and is used for shallow crank work but spool capacity just isn't there for going deep. Dropping down to 12lb FC helped but have broken off a couple times going that light. Don't really mind a wider form factor so the Tatula 150 may be an optio...

Re: Daiwa Deep Crankbait Reel Options
Haven't thought about going that high of a gear ratio for crank bait, but I do fish where shad are abundant so could be a benefit there.

Daiwa Deep Crankbait Reel Options
What are my options in the low profile Daiwa offerings? I have several Tatula 103s already in the boat so prefer that form factor. Typical crank bait lure weight varies from 1/2 to 1 oz. I've seen topics here on the Tatula 150/200 and varying opinions about size and braking types so would appreciate...

Re: Braid on Daiwa TW reels
Thanks for the replies thus far. I was very careful on my last outing to avoid extending casts and didn’t have a blowup or break off, which is never a problem with floro. Will try thicker X9 on one of my TWs in a few weeks and Tufline as well.

Braid on Daiwa TW reels
Do these reels prefer a certain type of braid? A few months ago I set up a rig for topwater and soft plastics using a Tatula SV TW 8.1 which got 30lb Berkeley X9 braid. Since then, I’ve broken off 1/2 oz whopper ploppers and same weighted football jigs with soft plastics while casting. I’m having si...

Re: Millionaire CV-Z Upgrades?
Thanks for the replies thus far. I'm striking out on gears/spools thus far, likely indicating upgrading to a Conquest DC or similar at some point.
