Daiwa Tierra is better than the Capricorn for the same price.

Re: Shimano or daiwa
Anyone try the Daiwa Tierra from TT's review? It's supposed to be even better than the Capricorn.

Sol & exceler are basically the same spec. Does the airbail and the sealed drag worth the extra 100bucks?hobobob wrote:exceler & tierra are basically the same spec. Does the airbail and the sealed drag worth the extra 50bucks?

Re: Daiwa Tierra spinning reel REVIEW UP!
Was/is the Capricorn comparable to the Stradic? I own 3 of each with a Cabelas Prodigy 2500 thrown in for good measure. I think the Stradics cast better in the smaller 1000 size, but in the 2000 and 2500, the Capricorns really shine. But don't take my word for it: Capricorn vs. Stradic Gadget Ok so...

I have the newer Procaster-A spinning model that I bought for $25. Very good quality rod for the price.

Re: pike....and crash!!!
Sorry to hear about your loss. :( I was in an accident last year and only had liability too and my car was totaled..was only able to sell it for $300 spare parts. It's market value was around $4K, but I was very fortunate like you to have not been injured. Yep it sucks but like you said sh*t happens...

Re: I no longer feel bad about the Opus-1 price
What's so strange about the weight? It can handle 80lb line and is mounted under the rod. It's made for big game salt water fishing. In fact it's much lighter than the Saltiga SA-Z 6000GT which is a whopping 28 oz.manasota wrote:17 oz.

Re: Daiwa Tierra spinning reel REVIEW UP!
Cool..anyway I think when they mention all metal they meant no plastic parts and not necessarily all aluminum parts. The Capricorn which this reel replaced had some plastic parts.

Re: Need help identifying an old toy.
Yeah I just found it thanks. Anyway it's amazing this toy is over 65 years old and here I thought it was created in the 70s/80s.kbookert wrote:Are you talking about a view-master?

Need help identifying an old toy.
Some of you guys may remember an old toy back in the 70s/80s that looks kinda like red binoculars with a a sliding lever on the side where you can view photos on round cardboard discs. I'm trying to remember what it was called but have no idea. Anyone here remember? Anyway I loved those things and i...

Re: Opinions Zillion 7.1 vs Curado 200DHSV...
Why are you comparing the Zillion to the 200DHSV when the logical comparison would be to the 100DSV or even the 100D? Size and weight are much more comparable. My wife uses the 100D while I use the 101D. They are small, light (7.4 oz) cast quite well and are VERY smooth. The 100DSV has a higher lin...

Re: Internet Explorer 7
IE7 is pretty good actually. I always have Opera as backup but I hardly ever use it anymore after upgrading to IE7 with built-in tabbed browsing.
