Re: New addition to the family
Sadly we lost Mr. Blaze in 2017 at the ripe old ate of 17.5. he loved going on the boat and kissing fish. His sole purpose on this earth was to sit on your lap.

Re: American Tackle G2 Carbon Handles
They're smooth, but not to the point of being slippery. At least I never noticed it, but I hold mostly on the reel seat.

Re: American Tackle G2 Carbon Handles
The next ones I do, I'm gonna try to turn acrylic trims to match the hood.

Re: American Tackle G2 Carbon Handles
I haven't seen the Bushido finish. I really like the CF pattern, this one was the 3k. I wish the sleeve wasn't gloss on it though, I prefer matte.

Tackle porn is never considered derailment \:D/ In that case, here's a 5S610mlxf with an AmTak CF grip and hood, Aero seat and acrylic winding check. https://i.postimg.cc/SQYxgSxN/20200414_113854.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/j5mdR9Zb/20200414_164519.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/HnFJPnfb/20200414-164337.jpg...

Re: American Tackle G2 Carbon Handles
How did you do it? 1st inner hole for ULH and then shaping outer dimension for perfect? Looks very good! Yea. Bore the ID to fit the hood, then turn the OD. I made bushings to hold the acrylic on my 1/2" mandrel. It is quite thin once shaped to the proper size. https://i.postimg.cc/jdstcw4Y/2020040...

They match ECS16 seats too. Tried to post a pic, but Photobucket says the image isn't available. I'll try later.

I normally don't critique someone's work, but if there's a custom builder selling a football epoxy job like that, they should be ashamed of themselvesHogsticker2 wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2020 3:04 pmI find that guide wrap and cut outs in the blank under the reel seat unacceptable.

7'6" MHX
A buddy wanted a 7'6" MH 2pc flounder rod. This is what I came up with. He picked it up today. That SW Stradic is a pretty sweet reel. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b244/ScottHovanec/Rod%20building/90%20MHX/20190915_123731_zpsic7xp6ky.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b244/ScottHovanec/Rod%2...

Rainshadow Eternity ETES610MXF review.
Finally built the Eternity I picked up over a year ago. Just a simple build with my favorite grip style. Don't know where that one holey cork ring came from. These were out of my personal stash of good stuff. It's not nearly as powerful as I expected. To me, it falls more in the Lite/Fast spectrum t...

Re: St Croix. . . . Naked
Lacquer thinner on a rag will literally wipe that cheap paint away. Regretfully, I discovered that quite accidentally. You accidentally put lacquer thinner on a rag, and took the rag to a rod blank...... Or did you accidentally have an accident?   I attempted to remove ink fro...

Re: Fuji clnag8j WANTED! Any leads on where to find?
Fuji quit chrome plating on their guides. The replacement is LNAG. It's just a polished SS, no chrome.
