Re: Pinnacle Rods
I have to agree with you about the seat, however after using it for quite some time now I actually prefer it. After repositioning my fingers and hand it became very comfortable for me and allows me to place my fingers on the rod blank better and IMO get more sensitivity from the rod. You are dead ri...

Pinnacle Rods
I have been readily impressed by their Perfecta Rods so much is to replace most of my older rods in my arsenal except of course my reliable Loomis GLX models. I found a deal on Dicks on line, buy one get the next at half price. I needed a medium and medium light for Perch fishing so I went for it. T...

Re: Sharpie-ing Braid= Lower Visibility to Fish?
Personally I think everyone should use 80lb florescent braid. That light green braid just makes no difference at all.

Another vote for Tuff-Line XP tried most came back to the XP. Great braid for the money.

Re: New Pinnacle Perfecta DHC7
I also have replaced most of my rods with the Pinnacle Perfecta rods. I own a slew of different rods and my favorite ones have always been my Loomis GLX. To my surprise once I got used to the Pinnacle reel seat I found myself using the Perfecta rods more and more replacing most every thing except my...

Re: Fluorocarbon vs braid
Fluorocarbon is more sensitive on a slack line then braid, however not even close on a tight line. I use both, but for my jigs I primarily use a very light braid. Do not slack line the jig on the fall. Follow it down. Also the light braid will cut threw the weeds like a hot knife threw butter unlike...

Re: Best rod under $150
Not many people use Pinnacle but the Perfecta is an awesome rod for the money. It has a real nice crisp feeling when you cast. I have to agree. The perfecta rods are in a different class then most of the other rods listed. No hype and little endorsements have made this rod a sleeper. I have 4 of th...

After many years of purchases only two for me. Loomis GLX and Pinnacle Perfecta. For this year most likely the Pinnacle

Re: Fluoro Knot Help
I agree with Woodt. The Modified Uni is almost as strong as the Berkley Braid Knot, but a lot smaller and easier to tie. The San Diego Jam knot is also good but not as strong as the Modified Uni from the tests that I have done. Since I started using it I also have never broken off at the knot. Jim

Re: invizx
What has been said about Invizx is generally true. Lots of stretch. Softer then most and less sensitive, however, if you use it as a leader the stretch against others is not as great as you would think. The length of the line makes a huge difference. It has the best knot strength do to its compositi...

Re: best bang for buck
For a long time there was no doubt that Powell was the best bang for the buck, however in my opinion not any more the Pinnacle Perfecta rods are quite a bit better. Try to get your hands on some different rods and make your own choice. Jim

Re: I need help choosing a new rod
I would not tell you to buy something without trying it first. Not all rods are suited for everyone, however if you can get your hands on a Pinnacle Perfecta rod I would give it a try before you buy any of the big name rods. You can pick this rod up for about $150. A steal at that price. Just to giv...

Going to try something new for Drop shotting
I have always used 30lb Tuff-Line XP to 8lb P-Line 100% Fluorocarbon for my drop shot set up. This year I am going to use straight braid, but 6lb test. As long as I keep the line tight you will not be able to beat the sensitivity and the line size will be .002 for the braid vs .009 for the fluoro. W...
Rod Hype
You hear all the hype for the new rods coming out with the big names and then to find out they are no better if not worse then the older models. I have experienced this first hand myself, due to buying into the hype but thinking how much better can this rod get. I guess that's how you sell a product...
