One thing I do is thread in a swivel onto the split rings as added weight. That way I'm not actually switching out the trebles. fir finesse options - a double split ring or heavier gauge rings work. I've even seen people squashing tungsten putty into the 3 hooks nook to add weight discretely. You j...

Re: Baitcasting Young Guns: Fresh New Low-Profile Reels

waiting for someone to create an actual dedicated ice fishing casting reel...but not like the 13 tear drop dead weight. I've been using an older Calcutta 51 on my MH and H ice fishing rods with great results. 8-) Awesome, been using the Chronarch Mg50 since it's inception along with the C...

Re: Abu Garcia's BFS Flex : The Revo Ultracast BF8

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one secretly using a spinning reel seat with a baitcasting reel mounted.

There's something about palming without a trigger that so much better.

Re: Shake Rattle and Sting'em with Salmo's Rattlin' Sting Jerkbait

I really like the original Salmo Sting that came in both floating and suspending versions. Simple designs but worked great for river fishing, especially when the walleyes are running in shallow water where jerkbaits come into play when casting from shore. This newer version looks better than the old...

Re: The Speed Spool Returns – Lew’s Tournament Pro Baitcaste

I myself do like using plastic/graphite reels, because they're cheap. Personally I find the internal plastic parts to be fairly on par with a majority of reels. In part I was really looking for a competitor reel that would offer better value than the CU50E's that I've got. The TP reels are price poi...
