Re: Looking for a workhorse

I'm still rolling with my OG Zillions nearly 10 years later. Added a few SV103s since then as well.

Re: Chatterbait Weight vs Application

You need to determine what weight will get you in contact with the bottom based on current. Then try fishing it like a blade bait. Drop to bottom & rip back up a few feet then repeat. I don't fish a river system, but this is the only way I ever fish a chatterbait. I just jig it off the bottom like ...

Re: Was Braided Line a Game Changer for You?

CXX is a whole different animal. I have used it as a mainline and have been using it as my primary leader line for several years now. Incredibly tough stuff.

Re: Ned Rod choices - P5 / NRX+ / AGS

Now I want to try one even though I have the NRR  What's the perceived upper limit of this rod? (The documented weight range is 1/32 - 5/16oz, similar to the NRR.) I've fished up to 9g total weight on the Steez "The Ned" and that's the upper limit for me. That weight puts a slight but noticeab...

Re: NRX 902s vs Steez AGS MML for ned rigs

I have no experience with the NRX 902, but have read essentially what Hobey stated in his post. I'm sure others will comment more on the NRX as I have read many posts about the and specifically about the 902 in the past. I can tell you that I have the current Steez AGS MML and it would be an excelle...

Zoom mag lizard. It actually is the one plastic I keep in the Xterra, just in case.
Xterra huh? Very nice. I drive a 2010 Xterra OR myself.

To answer the question, I would have to chose creature baits.

I think the Daiwa BLX 7'4" MH Limber Graphite should work as well.

Unless you want higher end than a BLX.
That rod is definitely on my radar. Certainly don't need higher end than that for a cranking rod.

Re: Deep cranking rod

What rods are you guys deep cranking with? I'm looking to pick up a rod for deep cranking this summer/fall that will handle baits in the 3/4-1.25 oz range like the DD22, Deep-Six, Little John DD, and the Duo G87 20A. Not interested in throwing any of the larger hard pulling magnum cranks so I don't...

Re: Deep cranking rod

I just got the Evergreen International Wild Shooter for just this technique, larger but not oversized hard baits. I gave a lot of thought and research. Not overly expensive either. Thanks for the suggestion. I should specify that I'm looking for something in the 7'4 "-7'6" range. Yeah, I think I wo...

I have a pair of 6-11's...love them. I throw a lot of small cranks, and will be adding the imx-pro 841 cbr next.

What cranks have you thrown on them and what reels/line do you pair them with?

Re: P5 Kasumi Six Eleven for small cranks

So I got out yesterday but the water temps have jumped to 46-50* and the bass are already chewing the RkCrawler 55 so that was what I threw primarily. Didn't toss any of my Megabass cranks at all.
