Re: 3rd genetation STx
Since the new STXs are only 6.35 oz I would assume the gears are made out of aluminum such as the premiers gears are. I'm just assuming this because I don't know of any other reels that weighs so little that have bass gears........

Re: anybody have the abu verdict 7'3" mh?
I have the rod your looking at. Not sure what the handle length is but compared to other rods its pretty stiff. I use mine for 1/2 to 3/4 oz carolina rigs and also jigs with the same weight, it handles all of them very nicely. It also works for small swimbaits in a pinch too.

I was so bummed that they only came out with righty's!!mmasturgeon wrote:Awesome, I really like those reels. I emailed Abu Garcia asking if when the LH version will come out. They stated 2013, I don’t get it; but I guess I will just have to bite the bullet and pick one of the RH 7.9:1 up for now.

Re: Revo premier spinning reel vs Stratic CI4
I have never fished the shimano stratic reel, but here is my opinion on the premier. Its a very smooth reel, yet with plenty of power. Its not the lightest reel, weighing in at 7.9, but it makes up for that in how its built like a small tank. Now for the "Nano material"; I'm not sure what it is but ...

Re: Daiwa Steez SVF-XBD Frog Rod questions???
Yes - paired with the right reel and line, you won't have any trouble with baits at the lower end of your range. If you can get it at a "great" price, by all means, jump on it. If you don't like it, I'd bet it wouldn't last long on the buy/sell/trade page priced accordingly...
Thank...

Daiwa Steez SVF-XBD Frog Rod questions???
I can get this rod for a great price but don't need a frog rod right now. What I was wondering is if you could use it for 3/8 once to 1 ounce jigs or creature baits with 17 to 20 pound test line for dock or heavy cover such as wood???? I've heard that it has plenty of back bone but I was wondering i...
