Does anyone have any experience with Spiderwire's new DuraBraid? I have been seeing a lot of ads for it but haven't see very many review.

Re: Pflueger Supreme MGX corrosion?

Shouldn't be a problem at all. The only issues would be dunking in salt water. It also has a sealed drag.

On/Off Instant Anti Reverse need for Freshwater?

Does anyone turn the Instant Anti Reverse off on their freshwater spinning reels? Personally I don’t and was wonder why manufactures offer this feature as it appears to be problematic. From what I have seen most saltwater reels don’t offer on/off Instant Anti Reverse so I would assume it is for dura...

Re: Pflueger Patriach spin: Twist & Drag

There was a long thread several months ago regarding drag in the Patriarchs. Some reels seemed to have 2 drag washers while others had 1 (in 30 or 35 size I believe). From what I remember the reels with 2 drag washers were the latest design and all newer reels should have 2 washers. Is this correct...

Re: Pflueger Drive Gear failures

I have owned and used Pflueger spinning reels for quite some time. Never had any problems out of them. The past two weeks I have had the drive gears in two separate reels, a 9040xt and 8040mg, lose teeth during a hook set. I have already ordered replacement parts, but was wondering what the cause c...

Re: Pflueger Patriarch spinning???

I called Pflueger this morning to ask about the drag and if any changes had been made from earlier production runs. I had to leave a message with a "Dale" but he did call me back just a little bit ago. His word is that there have been no changes. I know that this is by no means a final word on the ...

Re: 7.1 or 6.4 for General Applications

Typically a mid 6 is the best all around gear ratio just be careful because what you are really talking about is IPT or inches per turn. A baitcast reel could have a mid 7 gear ratio with the same IPT as a mid 6 gear ratio with a larger spool. I personally prefer a 25-27 IPT for general use. This ty...

Re: Pflueger Supreme XT or Abu Garcia Soron STX?

Can't say that I have ever used a spare spool in my life but I get the idea behind having one. Do people actually use them for something other than an ashtray? If that is the deal breaker for you I am sure you can order a replacement spool from Pflueger or Abu's repair center and then just buy the r...

Re: Pflueger Patriarch spinning???

Noticed the same thing being mentioned in the write up here on Tackle Tour but the reel I have has plenty of drag. According to Pflueger Customer Service they added an additional drag washer to the 30 size in production which increased drag from 6 to around 10lbs as stated below. Sure enough I took ...
