Re: Low profile swimbait reel suggestions?
... except that you can't fish a 250 on a small reel, and you do in fact pull the bait with the reel.

Re: Low profile swimbait reel suggestions?
A curado 200 can work a 175, but he said he wanted to fish a 250.

Re: Low profile swimbait reel suggestions?
Lol you must not fish a glide bait much.
Just buy a curado 300. It will alleviate all issues and doesn't need to be upgraded just to perform normally. Plus it's a shimano.

Hudd, Triple Trout. Watch southern trout eaters and big bait posse. 2 of the best producing baits out there.

Re: "Castifying" a spinning rod
Put a couple rod holders on your ceiling, I can store 10' rods in my bedroom no problem.

The Phenix UMBX 703xh is my choice. Best rod I've used, hands down for frog fishing.

Phenix makes a bunch. Look at the saltwater series rods too.

Re: What material to use to patch up Deps SS 175 skin
It could be that the weighting in your bait is off by just a miniscule amount. Every bait is different like that. I have some that swim better with water in the tail and some that swim better empty. It just depends on the bait.

Re: What material to use to patch up Deps SS 175 skin
The hole at the bottom of the tail that fills the bait with water so it sits and swims correctly? Yeah, that's supposed to be there.

Curado is still my favorite. I've fished most of them and the Curado is still the best.

Re: Reccomend me a swimbait rod
If you have the money buy the LDC. I am not a fan of dobyns. The guide inserts pop out way too often and they aren't anything special.

Re: Swimbaits for summer deep holding bass
Also, don't discount fishing shallower. True "big baits" have a lot of drawing power. I've caught top water fish over 25-30' of water. A top water bait like an MS slammer and a Slow sink like a Triple Trout will be some of the most exciting bites you've ever had.

Hudd ROF 12 will get you down to any depth to about 40'. As others have said, lead head plastics are good too.

Have you watched southern trout eaters? I don't know for sure, but matt peters may have a video on YouTube about the tail differences. Matt Allen does for sure (tacticalbassin).
