Re: Ultimate frog blank

There are a ton of factors that go into choosing the ultimate frog rod. How big are you? Bigger guys can get away with throwing longer/heavier setups all day. I don't have lumberjack hands and forearms, so I like a lighter setup. You want enough rod to get the fish out, but smaller guys will get bet...

Re: Sinker stops for 6/7/8lb sniper?

The 6th Sense stops are the best that I have tried. I haven't used them on smaller fluoro, but they hold better than the cheap ones on the heavier line. They should work better on smaller line also.

Nice collection. Those dark Punkers are night killers. I keep saying that I want to do a custom dark paint scheme on top of one of my 8" trout patterns, but I can't decide exactly what the pattern will be.

I love a mag topwater bite. 8-) https://i.imgur.com/mKdcL5n.jpg IMG_0639.jpg So do I. The Shellcrackers are awesome summer baits. The 7" Bluegill Wood Punker has been getting a workout with me lately. I had a double digit butterball buttered up with about 15 feet of line out on Sunday, but it hit i...

Re: Chatterrbait Big Blade

You have been able to get magnum blades at Barlow’s for a lot of years. They are really fun to fish in saltwater also. They used to sell magnum heads also. You can experiment with whatever size head that you want.

Re: What do you do when the forecast is 120 degrees all week?

Now all we need is some pics of said bass caught with a frog. I’ll try to get you some this week. They suck when I am holding the fish with one hand and the phone with the other. I don’t like to put them on the grass when it’s still 100 around midnight. IMG_0613.jpg This is the poor type of photo t...

Re: What do you do when the forecast is 120 degrees all week?

We've been hitting low hundreds here and I wait till the sun drops but have to time it cause the mosquitoes come out shortly after The only thing we have going for us in the summer is no bugs, and mountains close by, but they do have mosquitos. They broke an all time record with 104 degrees at my f...

Re: What do you do when the forecast is 120 degrees all week?

That's brutal, man!. When its 95* and up here in the summer, we drag frogs across mats all day and watch the depth charges go off repeatedly! I use the FX Customs 6-10 Hvy as my frog rod. Overall weight and balance is excellent and the rod truly has enough backbone and tip for frogs. It makes a gre...

Re: Fishing gloves

Gloves are a very subjective thing. I prefer the Glacier Gloves. I've been wearing them since the beginning. They have changed the palm material a few times over the years. I've usually got about half a dozen pairs in my rotation at any one time. It is nice that they aren't too expensive. I don't ca...

Re: Carrying duplicate baits

I do my best to have three of whatever lure I need. It's been pretty difficult with a lot of baits during the pandemic. I lost a $100 rare hard swimbait last week in a golf course pond on a rope tied to an aerator. I went swimming and found the rope filled with baits. I picked off the ones that I wa...
