Re: NRX+ 854 vs 894

That's what I found from my research--everyone says to skip the 854 and go with the 894 because it's a true 1/2 oz jig rod and feels more sensitive. That's what I'm exploring, options for a 1/2oz jig rod. But because I'm fishing from a kayak, I'd like to keep it around 7'1". I still love using my o...

Re: DRT rods, tho

You can probably fly to Japan, knock on the door of the DRT facility, guilt them into selling you a rod out of pity, after telling them you traveled from the US to buy one thinking it was over the counter, for less than that (flight and rod).

Re: Epitome vs Xray

Interesting indeed, seems in line with:

2019 Z-Bone: X-ray (Cal)
"Among the most sensitive rods I've fished"

_

Edge Epitome (Zander)
"Very good overall sensitivity"

vs.

Trika (Zander)
"Very good to excellent sensitivity"

I always found these reviews interesting

I like jarring sensitivity, the kind that scares you when you swim your bait into a rock

I'm not a brand loyalist, but I've learned to keep Shimano pinion bearings on deck for my baitcasting reels.

I like spro products. Rats, bbz swimbaits, the bronzeye frog and I have an old love affair through many snakehead wars....but this is wild.

I had mine on a Gen1 Phenix 7'3" ML Maxim spooled with 10lb braid / 6-8lb leader.

I fished neds with it, for the few weeks that I was infatuated.

Re: Your most versatile rod?

I sold my emtf only because of weight and I regret it. But Ive found two new super versatile rods for my style of fishing the Phenix k2 714 and Andrena 6'11" m+ can do jerkbaits to finesse jigs and everything in-between and a 904 conquest for the heavier stuff I just saw one for sale recently. I us...
