Re: Daiwa PX68/Type R or SPR
I am casting a lot of 1/4 oz baits with Dobyns 684cb and Magabass X4 Rattle Viper. Been using Sol with bearing upgrade and Steez 103sh. My problem is that I useing 12# line mono line (a lot of topwater). Might go to 10#, but where I am fishing no lower. Will the SPR improve my distance with that hea...

X2 Also add X4 Rattle Vipernjbasscat wrote:In the Dobyns lineup I would recommend 684CB or 704CB for topwater. If you fish heavier cover the 705CB is a good option. If you feel like laying out more money, the Megabass X4 Black Elseil is a fantastic topwater rod.

Re: Fishing Magazines
I like the newspaper type magazine that Bassmaster's has, not sure the name of it. I like the toury breakdowns for the top finishers.

Re: Searching For a Topwater Rod
I'll second the Magabass Rattle Viper for lighter stuff i.e. X-pops, have not used it for heavier dog baits. I have seached for the ideal popper rod for years and the Rattle Viper is the best I have found.

Re: Topwater rod help.
I fish topwater a lot and use Dobyns 684CB, 685CB, and 705CB rods. Their moderate fast actions work well for topwater and I use them for jertbaits before topwater weather. If you like longer rods the 704CB and 705CB would be great. If you have the money pick a Megabass X4 in F3 - F5, these sticks ar...

Does this spool have the same casting characteristics as the Steez 103's?

Re: What rod is Aaron Martens using in the videos?
I did some similar reseach this week, and it was the discontined F-610 DRS. One articile I read said the reverse first guide to cut down line wobble beacause it was closer. Go figure (just move the guide).

Re: Megabass F3-68 rods (or others)
I too had the same questions and ended up with a Rattle Viper from Tackle Trap. Love it for Poppers and small cranks, but have not use it for bottom contact yet. I have not caught any bass over 2 pounds with it so I don't know much about how it handles bigger fish. Here on Guntersville Lake, that co...

Re: Cabela's 50th Anniversity Reels
Guys, I love my Cabela's 50th Ann,I have already upgraded the spool bearing and drag on the zillion. I guess I should have asked about just the Fuego. The Fuego is going on a Megabass F3-610X4S Drop Shot Rod. Hoping someone could tell me about upgrades to spinning reels including paint. I do upgrade...

Cabela's 50th Anniversity Reels
Has anybody had their Cabela's 50th Anniversity Zillion or FuegoA painted or added any upgrades. Would like to see what is possible. These reels are not ulgy until you put them on a rod. I am very happy with the reels and I got them for very good prices

Re: T3 spool.......
Great stuff, I just brought 2 Steez 103s on sale. Was looking for spool replacements. Love this forum. If you decide to sell the stock Steez spools, let me know. Sorry, after using one of the reels on my light bait rod I decided to keep one as is and swap the other one out with the spool on the Ste...
