Re: Review on the Gloomis GL3 casting rod

:-k 6' Loomis casting rod rated in 10 - 17lb test? Sounds like the CR723C ? :) The 3 power loomis sticks are their medium heavy line of rods - generally speaking. Though I'm not familiar with that specific rod in the GL3 line, it should be able to handle casting lures that are about 10 grams (betwee...

Re: Pixy vs Alphas?

If you want an all-purpose type reel, the Alphas wins due to its greater line capacity, faster retrieve, and stronger drag as compared to the Pixy. If weight and casting ability are more important to you than line capacity and overall strength of drag, the Pixy wins hands down. If you want the best ...

Re: Twin Power

The 2005 Shimano Twinpower incorporates their S-R Concept ... an engineering refinement that is only available in one of their other reels at this time: The Stella FB (US Market) and Stella SR (Japanese Market). This can be likened to Daiwa's Reel Four (Japanese Market) and Digigear (US Market) Conc...

Re: What is a flippin stick?

Daleo, The origins of flipping, most credit, to the legendary journeys of Dee Thomas, a Northern California native. I won't go into his story here, but flipping is a presentation where you swing the bait from the end of your rod tip in a pendulum like motion to its destination. You don't cast or eve...

LOL Marc,

Ok... so you're fishing your 200DC on the CR722 GLX right now? It'd work fine on the Elseil... just that the 100DC would be more comfy is all... ;)

Re: Megabass USA Website Updated

Then I'd wait for them to finish adding rods to the site (yes, they're not finished) and take a look at the Mephisto within the Orochi series... 6'9" of pure evil (F7-69DG Super Destroyer Mephisto (Medium Fast, 3/8-4 oz., 12-32 lbs.)) Or... consider the Diablo. Catch'em-all has one for sale in the f...

Mark
Any of the F4 or F5/5.5 rods will make a wonderful match for the 100DC Mark... as for the 250DC... you might have to get yourself one of those new bad boy Orochi Monster Bait rods... ;)

Re: Japanese vs. domestic spinning reels

olamagic, Welcome to TackleTour! Not having held or used either of these reels, i cannot speak to the performance differences, however, the '05 Shimano Twinpower sports Shimano's SR Concept . To date, this is the only spinning reel in Shimano's lineup, aside from the Stella SR/FB that sports this en...
