saltwater worthy reels

I am lookin to buy an extra corrosion resistant baitcasting reel to take out in brackish and salt water for larger species. So far I have been looking in the $200 - $300 price range..I have owned a daiwa viento, revo sx, curado, and quantum...I honestly am not partial to shimano or abu or daiwa or q...

Re: Carrot Micro Consensus

I agree, they are def. not worth $200 bucks...sure they are light, but I highly doubt they are as durable as others or even close to as sensitive in that price range...hell the Veritas is just as sensitive for $90...no microguides though...if I was gonna spend $200 on a rod it wouldnt be a carrot st...

copolymer line?

I was just curious as to what copolymer is supposed to be used for...I know mono is generally an all purpose line, fluorocarbon is light finesse/bottom bouncing line, and braid is for frogs/topwater/flippin and pitchin...I have never used co-poly and am sorta interested in it...this may sound like a...

Re: BPS Carbonlite

The veritas is VERY stiff for its power rating, and its lure rating. I'd hoped to be able to use that rod for something other carolina rigs and heavy flippin, but it's just too stiff. I am looking for a somewhat general/all purpose rod for throwing worms jigs light swimbaits and spinnerbaits....I a...

Re: BPS Carbonlite

wow thanks for the great feedback...I have a vendetta rod and I really dont like it at all...dont get me wrong its light, but it just feels bulky to me for some reason... I have it paired with a Revo SX because "its factory tuned"...I was looking for a new rod around $100 to put the revo on...

Re: best $100 rod

do you think a 6'6 medium veritas would be ok for stripers or larger fish? I know that they are alot stiffer and stronger then what they are rated so I figure i could cast a 1 oz lure no problem on the medium even though its rated for 5/8 oz....any thoughts?
