I've already replaced the bearings in one, I know I need to in the other but first I have to figure out which one has the boca bearings and which does n...

Pixy 101

What is the difference in a pixy (non zilla) and an Ito? What is the PX-R and where does it fall into place? I was looking at the pixies for sale and than the ito's for sale and they all look the same for me. I noticed that the PX-R type is more expensive than the steez 103 at the moment, and wonder...

Core 100MG vs. Core 100MG7

I know that one has the 6.3:1 gear ratio (aluminum) and the other the 7.0:1 witht the brass gearing. When you consider $349.00 vs $399.00 is the MG7 worth the extra money? I am really straddle the fence and since reading these forums I have kinda talked myself out of a steez and now trying to decide...

2012 calais vs antares

There is alot of hype for the 2012 Antares, but will there be and U.S. version of the reel? what is the expected price of each? What techniques do you use specifically the 100A calais for or the antares and what is the rod line setup? The old Calais gear ratio was 5.8:1 so what is the anticipated ra...

Re: Finesse Reels Applications

most of the time when i read about those that use "finesse" reels they arent using what I consider finesse lines 12# and above. i think if i brought a finesse reel i would not use more than 8lb test. Now when it comes to flippn and pitchn a finesse reel most often balances best on long sticks. I lov...

Finesse Reels Applications

I've been looking long enough at the finesse reel blogs. I've often wondered why would a person buy a finesse reel ( particularly casting models)? Often I read that people have Pixy's and such. I've wondered how well would a pixy be at flipp'n and pitch'n. Does anyone use them for that? What reels o...

2012 JDM Calcutta

What's your take? I just saw it on japantackle and it looks amazing. Clean lines and all but I also wonder about the
Antres too with the micro gears.
