Re: Lew's BB-1 Pro Series Speed Spool Casting Reel
It is a larger spool and frame that the TP, but not a huge difference. It is primarily a BB1 with a more convenient to adjust brake system, you will be quite satisfied as long as you are throwing 5/16oz or more.

Re: Legend Elite Brown?
I have had all three versions of the SCV over the years, they fish pretty much the same,,,,terrific. I would buy one in a heart beat for the right price, and that all depends on condition. remember if you ever have problems or break it 75 bucks upgrades it to the newest model with FRS,ART, IPC you c...

Re: Best Cranking Reel?
Lew's BB1 or BB1 Pro, I like the 6.4:1 with instant anti reverse, very smooth and with the length of the power handle has the power the 5:1 reels do and keeps the smoothness all Lew's are known for, two years later I love mine.

Re: bb1 vs curado e5
Like everyone else here that has had both reels, after using both it was my opinion the BB1 is hands down the best choice if smooth cranking and long casting is your interest! I much prefer the more advanced centrifugal breaking on the BB1 also as it allows more casting control, sold my Curados and ...

Re: Lew's speed spin high speed reel
I love my Speed Spool baitcast reels and find them hard to beat from other brands for twice the money, but from experience with the Lew's earlier model spinning reels have found that there to be better spinning reel options. I have heard they have improved the newer model spinning reel's but have no...

Re: 7:1 ratio reels.
Ive had several reels in Shimano and Lew's line with both gear ratios and never noticed any noticeable loss in retrieval power, I have had a couple of those brands slower 5.4:1 and even 3.8:1 in various models that I do feel a difference in. I will say in my opinion the 3.8 was not a benefit in heav...

Re: All aluminum LP baitcaster...?
The Lew's Team and new Lew's Team Gold are both great reels, over 2 years on the original, and last fall picked up 3 of the Gold, all have been more than I bargained for, I am sure the Team Pro is a sweet reel that will perform far better than it's price reflects as well!! These are the only ALL ALU...

Re: left vs. right
I one time read the logic was to accommodate the dominant right handed fisherman. It was said the if you are right handed most hold the baitcasting equipment in their left hand because the right hand runs the reel and on baitcasting equipment most of the retrieval of your fish is with the reel becau...

Re: Goodbye Shimanoloomis hello Gary North fork loomIs?
St Croix seems to answer my needs pretty well... Made in NORTH America, excellent customer service, & top notch performance all in one package. The Mojo and Rage Rods(maybe others?) are made in Fresnillo, Mexico. Those rods are priced to compete with GL2 and GL3 loomis bass pro and most other rod's...

Re: Rod Action - Jig & Worm
For normal conditions under 15' I like a fast action, when fishing deep water, or in gin clear water where I like to fish farther from the boat, I will go with the XF most of the time. I always run braid as a main line with Fluoro or mono for a leader.

Re: Which is your favorite rod company?
St. Croix is my rod of choice, Avid and Legend are the best buy's on the planet, even when I build a custom there is only one blank I reach for, and that is a USA MADE St Croix, by doing this I have never been disappointed!! I have been by other top makers!! As Dwight said with St Croix you always g...

Re: Lew's Tournament MG
Buy the TP and forget all the add on's. I put boca orange seal abec 7's in the TP and found there is no gain!! The TP was just as smooth and fast with the factory bearing's flushed and properly oiled as it was with the orange seals. I put the Orange seals in my Calcutta 200GTB, and did see a big dif...
