Rainbow Trout with Trout Magnet:
I was using braid, but it's bad for TroutMagnets. Now I have mono in that lightest Roro spool.

Re: Carrying duplicate baits
Yes, but typically I carry only 1 duplicate bait with me. For Rainbow trout I have one that good bait which I feel I need a duplicate for sure. For Seatrout I have one that good bait which I feel I need a duplicate for sure. For Pike I have one that good bait which I feel I need a duplicate for sure...

Re: Short BFS rod
Tsurinoya Ares is repaired, and it's repaired good in my opinion. I decided to sand repaired area again ad coat it again. Now it's good looking in my standards :) And by the way, it's amazing rod at that price. Shipping cost is relatively high in respect of what it was. I was training different pitc...

Re: Anyone make short glass UL casting rods?
I guess that there will be re-production of 2500 C again. It was formerly in the 1995 when they re-produced 2500 C IAR. I think it doesn't take many years when they will product those again. BFS popularity is rising, and there is fans of classical Abu, and mint 2500 C's costs sky high, and aftermark...

Re: Anyone make short glass UL casting rods?
Plus that rod doesn't rebound much at all. Once the cast is made it snaps right back to being straight. It's incredible. I've never seen anything else quite like it. Yes it is. Hard to say is it mainly by his ridiculously expensive Anglo&co rods or by his remarkable casting skills. I guess it's mor...

Re: Anyone make short glass UL casting rods?
I can't speak for another people, but for me idea of extra soft glassfiber rod is easier casting for lures of 2 g and below and great fun with 1 kg rainbow trouts. Probably different casting techniques are also easier to learn with slow and bendy rod. (My short glass rod still waits for order blank ...

Re: BFS Reel option : New Conquest BFS? Or tune up my Abu 2500C?
^ I have sold mine 2500 C and 4500 C, so I can't check. But I think 2500 C is wider than 4500 C.

Re: BFS Reel option : New Conquest BFS? Or tune up my Abu 2500C?
^ Yes.
I have thought to buy that AMO frame despite of that I don't have reel. It's such big saving from Avail => Amo in that frame.
But because of I don't have reel, I don't have ordered frame, because I can't check fits frame or not...

Re: BFS Reel option : New Conquest BFS? Or tune up my Abu 2500C?
If I'm going to tune up old little Abu, I will choose Ambassadeur 2500 (over 1500 or 3500).
3500 is said it don't cast as good as 2500 - I'm not sure of why it's so.
Spool weight 2500 c vs. 1500 c is slim. But 1500 is narrower, and line guide changes direction faster...

Re: BFS Reel option : New Conquest BFS? Or tune up my Abu 2500C?
I have no idea of how well tuned up Ambassadeur 2500 works. I have had Ambassadeur 2500 C, but sold it at good price in the 90's. But now those mint 2500 C's cost ridiculously much. I have thought much of buying good 2500 C and tune it up. But full tuning parts for it is really high priced. (Lower f...

Re: How to try to fix my new Tsurinoya Ares which is damaged by hook?
Scratch was in the place where stress is greatest and I did not like weak point by scratch in threre. Now I have fixed scratch as good as I could and also I have moved most stressed area away from scratch. Yes, it was a lot of work for a little scratch. But in my opinion rod actually turned to bette...

Re: How to try to fix my new Tsurinoya Ares which is damaged by hook?
Now I was forced to fix Ares. Because there was people angling with worms in a Rapids (which is against rules). I was pissed of and put mine Teton Sul to my car and decided to change place. In a car was hot and I opened windows. In a highway I closed those. When arriving another fishing place I foun...

Re: Steez CT SV strength
I tried Steez CT with steelhead (seatrout) fishing. Line capasity is too low. With St. Croix 5SC90MHF you can easily cast all line out with 27g lure. I was using 0,17mm braid which is little bit too thin imo. When I use ct sized reel for seatrout, I cast 15 g or lighter lures, and then in my opinio...

Re: Steez CT SV strength
I like tws, but it's not big issue for me. It just adds something 2-5 % distance. Nothing more. And line is easier to push trough line guide in tws :) Ct Alphas is old platform an it's Made in Japan. And Japan I like :) Also there's moving line guide in ct Alphas when fish pulls line. I like to look...

Re: Steez CT SV strength
I’m looking at building a rod for stream steelhead and have my eye on this reel. Mostly using small spinners, cranks, and light floats. The stream feeds Lake Michigan and is only 30 feet or so wide. Line capacity isn’t a concern for me. My concern is could this reel handle a salmon that hits, while...
