Re: What is the best punching hook?

Trokar TK130. Only hook I'll use for flipping. Never bent out or rolled a tip yet. Been using them for about 4 years now.

Re: Archangel 8ft Heavy

I see your points Brad but pitching is easier and the longer rod allows me to work the bait vertical in more spots.

Re: NRX 852c

I've used mine for t rigs weightless to using a 1/4oz weight. I've used it for jerkbaits, topwaters, senkos, little spinnerbaits, small jigs... Its very versatile.

Re: Scratches on reel

I think a person can benefit from a little of both mentalities. Yes, let's keep our prized reels as scratch-free and perfect as possible, but if/when blemishes do occur embrace them as a new part of the reel and its aesthetic. There can be beauty in a well-maintained but well used and worn tool. I ...

Re: Archangel

Hi, is the 7'2" mh more of a "traditional" mh or does it fish heavier? Looking at the specs i would say the latter (which i would prefer). I am curious about its hook setting ability for jigs as well as some light cover frog work. Any info would be appreciated. I'd say it fishes...both. the zonal t...

Archangel 8ft Heavy

Has anyone used this rod?

How stiff is it? Is it a meat stick or does it have some flex to it?

Have you used it for punching? The rating look like it may perform similar to the Complie X flipping rod.

Re: New GLX rods

Just got my 853c from the Tackle Trap. Super fast shipping. Orderd Tuesday, got here today (Thursday). Nice packaging as well. Testing it against my Archangel 7'2" as I type. Im in between rods right now. I'm using the same reel, line blah blah. My concern for a MH was to be able to throw 1/4oz tot...

Re: best all around rod for spinnerbaits, chatter baits and

my daiwa tatula 6'10" MHF is the best all around rod i've ever used. i have plenty of other higher end rods that beat it out at one application or another, but if i was to need just one rod to pull multiple duties it would be the tatula. I love that rod. Easily best bang for your buck. Too bad I'm ...

Nice setups
I'm sure he is using left and right handed reels to prevent any sort of carpal tunnel or other conditions that come from overuse. I use right and left as well.

I've had the same idea after using the Jackall Panicra crankbait. Comes through weeds like a champ.

Re: Abu Garcia Volatile ML casting rod?

I doubt the Volatile will be a good rod for panfish. Small bass, it might be ok but I doubt panfish lure will load up very well on it. The rod will probably be a little much for the panfish themselves as as well.

Re: New GLX rods

So, I got an 853c on the way. Kicking myself in the pants because I forgot about an NRX 853c I could have got for the same price. I doubt the difference is that much.

I'm sure once the rod gets here on Thursday, I'll completely forget about the NRX.

Re: Abu Garcia Volatile ML casting rod?

I have never handled the rod but the Extra Fast taper may limit the effectiveness of what you throw. The guides are going to be bigger as well to accommodate leader knots because it is an inshore rod.

What baits do you plan on throwing?

Re: St. Croix Legend Extreme & Legend Elite

They allegedly use the same blank but take a look at their blank ordering form. The diameters between the two lines are different along with the weights. I have 2 of the Elite blanks and they are really nice.
