Re: Drilling into gears
Looks like it's spot-welded or riveted. I don't think it would hurt anything as long as you avoid those spots.

Re: JDM tatula?
There was recently a picture on Daiwa's Japanese website of a reel that looks like a tatula. It was sort of a teaser type of picture of it, with a 13 9 XX on it. If this is infact a tatula and there is going to be a JDM tatula, what will be different between it and the USDM version? Just a guess, b...

Re: Enthusiasts Beware
I believe that is one of Van's many customs. If I'm not mistaken, it is built on an old Shikari blank. I'm sure he will chime in with details shortly.mrpao wrote:What kind of rod is that?

Re: Jdm tatula
That handle in the pic is the the same one as the contoured handle from the '13 Steez EX 100H, the one with gold trim. Look closely at the way it tapers away from the retainer.....

Re: PE Zillion
They can be purchased from Daiwa USA, but I think you're outside the US, right? If u know someone here who has Paypal, u can ask them to make the purchase. Then u can pay that person to ship them to u.goldrod wrote:yes you are correct.

Re: PE Zillion
How do you modify the American zillion level wind to move fast like that of the JDM PE zillion? Also, is the drag star on the American version considered to be a sway back design? I want to get a handle that I saw on japantackle.com and I am not certain and need confirmation please. Lastly how long...

Re: Lamiglas Skeet Reese Blank
All the Skeet Reese honey colored blanks are cranking blanks and are made of fiberglass. They are pretty light, but very moderate. Flipping wouldn't be what I would do with them. Lamiglas makes great products, but those blanks are like wet noodles. No backbone at all, even way down at the first guid...

Re: A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away...
I just keep thinking back to that poor guy who proudly posted pics of the conquest that looked like it had been spray painted in rainbow trout colors. That is the only time I have seen the entire forum completely aligned on anything. And the consensus seemed to be that the guy might has well have s...

Re: hyper speed mod for the millionaire 103 platform
I have never personally done a gear swap on a Luna, but they are the exact same frame as the CV-Z, so I would say with some confidence that it will work. Ian probably knows for sure...rangerjoe wrote:I am assuming that the gears will also fit the Luna 103?
