Re: New in light rock fishing.
I own the TICT Rockin Finesse... and it is pretty light but can still handle up to 3/8 of oz, although not optimal. As far as braid goes, any rod with micro guides is going to require a very neat knot.

Re: Favorite UL line
The definition of UL is very broad on this site... Personally I am of mind that anything .005 and under in diameter is UL... except for braid and then all bets are off...

Re: Favorite UL line
I use Nanofil in 1,2,3 and 4lb test with a mono leader of 8-15 feet... I have caught hundreds of fish on one fill up of Nanofil... I have used the same line for 2 seasons on one rig, 4lb test. Nanofil does not twist like mono, that is the secret to it's longevity. The mono (or FC) leader offsets the...

Re: ultralight nymph trout fishing
I found mostly the same thing when it comes to using actual nymphs as compared to jigs (even jigs that need a bobber to cast). I have come to the conclusion that if you need to fish an actual fly (even with shot) then you are better off with a fly rod. I have successfully fished very small jigs with...

Smead-
Very nice.... It is hard to tell what kind of great things I would say about free tackle.

Re: Review of Diawa Area Bum Eriabamu
Thanks for the nice words... (Smead and Alphahawk)... It was Alphahawk's posting on Crappie.com about JDM, "ajing" rods that enticed me to try one... I was already buying some JDM stuff but his descriptions made me comfortable enough to try something I was skeptical about. It is hard to find reviews...

Review of Diawa Area Bum Eriabamu
I recently purchased a Diawa 5'6" XXUL-S... Another poster mentioned this series of rods in another review so I thought I would offer a review... http://www.daiwaweb.com/jp/fishing/item/rod/trout_rd/areabum/index.html 5 foot 6 inch 2 piece rod with a solid tip... rated 0.4-2.5g lures and 1.5-3lb lin...

Re: Could use some help choosing JDM ul spinning rod
Although I have never held one, the rod that I have seen (and lusted over...) is the Mega Bass OROCHI X4 F2-68X4S II. I think it would have guts to take on bigger fish and heavier line. Allsorts and Alphahawk are on the money that Ajing rods are not make to take on fish over about 3-4lbs in cover or...
