Re: New here

My biggest carp was from a pond. It went 24lbs. It couldn't really go anywhere, and it took about 15-20min as I recall to get it in. I was using a Zebco 5'6"rod and a Mitchell 308 reel, and Trilene XL 6lb test. To this day I can recall the details of that fight, and that fish, which still is my lar...

Re: New here

Welcome , I'm a newbie around here too , but definitely not to UL fishing . I can remember when my Dad was first getting into bass fishing in the early 60's and he and my brothers were throwing worms on broomsticks , I was looking for the smallest lures I could find and fishing them on 6 pound line ...

Re: $60 rods

I enjoyed fishing with the Spinmatic C rods . That's why I wound up with three of them . I bought a 7 footer, liked it , ordered another along with a 5 footer . Re: $60 rods

I ordered the 7' UL Daiwa Procyon from the guy on the "bay" and got it couple days ago . I was able to fish it this afternoon . Nice rod . Casts small cranks , beetle spins , and 1/32 slider grubs pretty good . An accurate caster , it cast like its a shorter rod , if you know what I mean . I think i...

Re: Hi , finally signed up

Got to slim the 7' Procyon this afternoon . Spent two hour casting , caught two LM , including this one that jumped on a slow rolled F3 Rapala . The rod is better than I expected . Not what I would call a fast action . Bends 2/3 into blank . Will cast a mile with a Teeny Torpedo , not bad with F3 Ra...

Hi , finally signed up

I've been a reader for a couple years, and felt I had to join up to tell you all, you've cost me a lot of money after reading about the equipment you guys recommend . Most recent purchases have been a St. Croix Trout series 6'4" light , and a Diawa Procyon , 7' UL . I've been fishing most of my life...
