Im a big jig fisherman so ive spent quite a bit of time throwing 1/2 jigs with the 894...liked it so much i picked a second 894 up..spent a little time throwing small jigs and shakeyheads with the 892....also have a 893, 855, and 895.... just waiting for the cold weather to put the glxs to good use...

My only concern with the comments made by SteveSchmelzle is by adding a full handle grip you are you adding more weight and requiring Gloomis to have to finish the blank to add the rod specs because the full grip wont provide the split grip area thus dampening the sensitivity. Great reels! I had a gang of them at one time. Doing side by side comparisons, I slightly preferred the chronarch D5. I think there was a scorpion antares at one time too, was that the same size as a Calais 200?
