This thread was the smartest thing I ever did..I not only found the rod of my dreams (and have the pictures to show someone)..but also the name of the guy who made it.

I'm guessing if Cal is using the Steez SVF rod instead of the GLX for plastic....the Steez must be really sensitive.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess that Cal's custom GLX MB843 (which just happens to be the rod of my dreams.....in the same color to boot) is priced on the high side of the Steez 7'1" model.

When I posted this...I meant for the choice to mean "free"..no cost to you. Pick the the you want as your one rod. Cost always colors our decisons....sorry I wasn't more clear in my orig post.

To stimulate some conversation....if you were given a choice between a new G.Loomis MBR783C GLX or a new Daiwa Steez STZ 671MHFBA which would you choose as your single fishing rod? Both appear to be pretty evenly matched on paper......both MH casting. Curious to hear the rationale for making a choic...

Anyone know if the new Steez STZ701MHFBA rod will have the Compile-X graphite or the regular SVF like the Cielo?
