Re: ZPI Source

Thanks, I looked them up but saw that they only have 1 blue set available. I'll fire off a message to Trey and see what he can do.

ZPI Source

Does anyone know of a ZPI source that's domestic to the US? I'm looking for some a couple sets of Shimano knobs, 1 in red and 1 in gold.

Re: 6lb Line On Baitcaster?

I used 6lb on almost all my baitcasters (Core MG7's, Curado E50's and Scorpion 1000 XT) and never had any issues. I'm mainly a finesse fisherman so I even go as low as 5lb Sunline on one reel.

Calcutta/Conquest knob nuts

Does anyone know if the knob nuts for left hand threaded posts from a Conquest or Calcutta DC can be ordered from Shimano? Or should I purchase right hand threaded posts? Almost forgot, the reason I think they're left hand threaded is I tried the nuts from a Calais but the nuts would not thread. The...

Re: Jig vs Frog rod?

Thanks for the replies guys. I suppose the best thing to do would be to give it a shot as a Frog rod.

Jig vs Frog rod?

I was going through some of my gear last night and found buried way back in the corner was a rod I hadn’t seen in a while. I forgot that I had a Mark Higashi custom Jig rod and was wondering if I could use it as a Frog rod instead. I have never used the rod, hence the reason I forgot I had it, I rar...

Steve's definitely one of the good guys! If only he'd stop buying so many reels, I can start working on selling him my Z21.

Sweet reel! Glad to see it's going to get used more than it did by it's previous owner.

Re: JDM finesse rods

I'll second both recommendations from mhood. I had a Conquest 50 (recently sold) on the Burroughs and a Daiwa TD-Z Custom on the Elese, using either setup for splitshotting fluttercrafts when the bite got tough out here in San Diego. Not sure where or if they’re still available new, but I’m sure if ...

Re: Curious on rod/line for Conquest 50

Steve,
I had it on both a Loomis CR722 GLX and a Daiko BRSC-64L. I really liked it on the Daiko as it was one of my splitshot/finesse setups.

Great job and getting your daughter hooked up. =D>

As and aside, I'm always amazed at how much more scenic other places in the country are to fish. You describe the spot as a local canal...I'm jealous.
