Re: Revo SX vs. STX

Redfish wrote:I have an SX and a STX and love them both, but IMO the STX is much smoother and seems more "refined" than the SX. If you are set on the black and red, there are always painters who will paint it any color you want!
I agree, the STX is a much better reel.

Re: Bearing ratings on stock reels?

Most of the reels you mentioned come with ABEC 1 or ABEC 3 SS bearings. The Steez has ABEC 5 SS bearings.

Re: Supertuning a Revo Premier

You can put all the orange seal bearings in it you want and they will not outperform the stock bearings after they are flushed.

I have 11 Premiers and have played and tested them inside and out.

Flush the stock spool bearings, put a Zillion handle on it and polish the spool tips.

Re: Supertuned my reel and now it's louder...??

I supertuned my TD-X. cleaned all parts, soaked bearings in acetone, polished contact points, relubricated bearings and gears making sure not to add more than a drop of oil per bearing and just enough grease to lightly coat the teeth of the gears. Now it's louder and doesn't seem to spin near as lo...

Re: A question for D.R. and other Revo users...

I still have REVO's. I never gave them up. They lay along side some $$$$$ reels and I still pick them up first.

I have 2 more coming for my 10 year old grandson. I cant keep his hands off mine when we are out fishing.

The 684C is graphite. I don't like the feel of a glass rod either.

Re: Powell 684 CB rod reviews, PLEASE!

I agree with Splash. The Dobyns 684CB paired with a Alphas 103 is a killer combo for cranks. I use a Conquest 50 and a Conquest 100 on both of my Dobyns 684CB rods. How sweet it is.

A child is never too young to fish. Give them the bug early and they will be hooked for life. I have 5 children and 10 grandchildren and they all like to fish. I have a 10 year old grandson that lives with me that fishing is his total passion. He eats breathes and sleeps fishing. Heck, he has more h...

Re: Just got a Sol, what upgrades?

Outrum, As Bass Pro said the Sol is one sweet reel right out of the box. A carbontex drag and ABEC 5 ceramic spool bearing upgrade will help the performance of the reel a great deal. The addition of a TD-Z handle, nut and nut cover will smooth out the winding (cranking) of the reel and add 4 bearing...

Re: Antares - Calais DC noise

I had the same ticking noise with my Calcutta 100DC. The bearing clip on the electronic side was not seated properly. One side of it was sticking up and hitting the spool. If that is your problem, use a chop stick or any other small diameter wood to snap the clip in place. Do not use a screwdriver a...
